Why? people can't be against fighting and write for a hockey page? What kind of logic is that?
Oh, nevermind, just saw you said "cindy and gina". You are 12. Proceed with your babyrage.
NO, why on earth do you write for a hockey page if you cant respect or embrace the rules of the sport, and the necessary reasons that fighting still exists in pro hockey?
you got me dead to rights...
or maybe just stop insulting fans and readers of this site because you grew up watching a pittsburg team that avoids fighting |

Jack Johnson played his first game for the Penguins. It’s way too early to have an opinion on his fit with the team. That would hold true if he was awesome or terrible.
Ryan: you need to write "/s" in order to signal sarcasm. |

Agreed. While I’m one who enjoys a good bout now and then instead, I understand that today’s game is leaning more and more to skill and speed. One can still hit clean, check hard, and not be a (frank)ing moron.
Ryan’s views aren’t because he writes for the Pens, don’t know where that stupid logic game from as most people still throw out “Deeeeerrrpppp!! Matt Coooke!!!!11” at most Pens fans.
People like that chode make me remember why there are still skeptics as to humankind making it in the long run. - RafiDRW

Why does every hockey writer need to share your beliefs? You aren’t anything more than a fan of hockey with just one opinion. Ryan is paid to be a sports writer and he shares similar views with a lot of other hockey pundits. I don’t understand why you are afraid of dissenting view points or the eventual change of fighting going away all together. |

Where are these cross checks i've heard mentioned a few times?
Ive looked at the replay, but all I saw was a light tap in the corner from Ekblad. - david22
Unfortunately, all the replays start in the corner...this began in front of the net like 10 seconds prior. |

Fighting is not outdated and stupid. NHL is a tough game, there is a lot of frustration and every player is armed. Fighting is a way for players to vent that frustration and prevent them from doing something stupid out of frustration. The Burtuzzi incident is a perfect example. If he had fought Steve Moore, it would have ended there. Instead Moore refused and that frustration lead to Burtuzzi doing something incredibly stupid and ended Moore's career. I under no circumstance agree with what was done by Burtuzzi, he should should have been banned from the league but that incident was avoidable. People do stupid things when frustrated. |

While I half agree with this, I understand that fighting will be removed over time with the emergence of CTE and more talented players replacing the Tootoos and Scott’s of the league. |

Eh. They were scrumming. Its tough to call something a cheapshot when the guy is in your face and trying to make trouble. Definitely a Richard move by Domi, but Ekblad wasn't blind sided.
Agree with Mr. J. This is why the instigator is stupid. After something like that, someone should be able to go hand Domi his lunch with impunity. |

Or just give Domi 20 games. I'm sure that will help guys learn quickly.
If you drop a glove and punch a guy in the face that has his gloves on, that is 100% a cheapshot. |

I'm not for senseless 4th line goon line ups, but protecting of teammates and sending messages to other players that you can't commit vicious hits without them going unpunished is why the majority of us that are pro-fighting don't ever think it should leave the sport |

Daddy Domi did same thing to Ulf 20 years ago. - rrentz
Not the same thing though. Every player who was asked about it applauded that punch. Ulf was dirty and would turtle every time he was approached.
Ekblad didn’t deserve that. |

Maybe ekblad should have stopped after cross check #3 instead of 6 in front of the net.

I love fighting in hockey and appreciate it's place in the game. But that was not fighting, that was a guy sucker punching another player in the face. They need to give him 20 games and send a clear message.
Im sure they will give him next to nothing, but the fact this is happening in the preseason makes it even worse. Meaningless game that has zero impact and you are suckering a guy.
Fact is, Domi was playing like crap and wanted to do something to distract from it. Unfortunately he is massively overrated and is going to get abused by Habs fans all season. |

Nurse got 3 games which is about 17 games short of how many he should have gotten. |
