That last goal was ALL on DeSmith. Bad goal to let up.

Plus/Minus also means nothing.

You know who's also -2? Malkin, Hagelin, Johnson and Kessel

EDIT: Johnson is -1 and Maatta is -2

Well, "nothing" is a little exaggeration, but obviously i had just a little fun with him as i already traded him this afternoon.

And nice to see a Teddy goal, as he was long rumored to be, or still is, our biggest 4C-prospect.

Edit: And now show us a powerplay which is worth its name...

JJ has actually looked pretty good this game.

Brassard looks better as the game goes along. He wasn't really engaging at first, but he seems to be settling in.

Haggerty, Rust, Hagelin and Malkin have been the best forwards today IMO. Simon has quietly been having a very solid game.

Good assessments, i agree.

JJ had a pretty trademark-bad scene back at little caesars: https://mobile.twitter.co...tatus/1042564185257897984

And as expected, Hayes today on waivers (with Garrett Wilson, {Thanks Rino/Edit:} Tobias Lindberg, Chris Summers, Stefan Elliott and John Muse).

Haha, yes, i typed a {wow} behind him wondering and still didn't question the first name... my bad. But the good thing is that just you and me know, as we seem to be the only two following this game. ;-)

Sounds like JMFJ has been having a nice preseason. Our defensive depth might be good this season.

DET overall looks good pre-season, don't seem they want to tank Hugh(es).

He's honestly played pretty sharp. His first pass to exit the zone is a little wonky at times, but there hasn't been much to dislike thus far.

Obviously playing against real rosters will be a true test.

Listened to part of the game. The old 29'r said Sprong hasn't really earned a roster spot. They're going to really have a dilemma if this kid can't earn a jersey most nights. He's not going to improve watching. All I've read is pretty negative too.

Sounds like Riicola is opening some eyes in camp. Nice to get a prospect that we weren't counting on.

How's the old 29'ers preseason form? He's pretty open & honest in evaluation of players & games in my opinion.

They have to find a way to rotate some people around. Riicola is honestly too good to keep out of the line up.

As far as Sprong is concerned, he really hasn't looked bad at all, but he hasn't jumped off the page. The thing is, I don't think time in the AHL will benefit him anymore at this point. I feel he's at the point where he needs sustained NHL time to figure things out, but my guess is he's on a short leash.

After a few preseason games this guy is too good to leave out of a contending team?

He is the only guy having played all four preseason games (two back2back's), so obviously he seems to be on the "roster-bubble"...

Yeah he's looked solid so far. And so has Riikola. See how the season goes and maybe we move maatta for a need haha. I just can't stand how maatta constantly gets smoked on the outside.

I won't jump the gun on him but if he pans out I move maatta all day. But that's just me haha, I can't stand how slow he is.

Sprong won't make it through waivers. He's either on the roster or traded. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they move him before the season starts.....just like DP.

Ah yeah, that waiver thing. It wouldn't surprise me either. I just get the feeling they aren't going to give him a lot of slack.
