I agree, Thompson looked fantastic, and nylander looks like a totally different player this year.

Mitts has been up and down so far but there are flashes of real skill and effort. I think he suffers from what eichel did when he began his career. Mitts needs to tap into that confidence and just shoot and go for it instead of always looking to be the setup man.

I think mitts will do just fine, but we will most certainty see some growing pains

Five and a half years ago.

That’s when Darcy told us that the vision would require some “suffering.” And by that time, we had already been mediocre for 3 or 4 years.

Since then, hundreds of times I’ve told you all “I think we’re going to be good.” I am a fan, and I won’t let myself think anything else. But in the back of my head, most of the time, I knew it was really just “hope we’re going to be good,” and my mentality wasn’t that we WILL win games, rather that we MIGHT.

I know it’s only preseason. But it’s the (frank)ING LEAFS. Our A’s against theirs on our home ice.

And I’m done suffering. We should all be done suffering.

I’m as excited about this team as I have been since long before 4/23/13. And for the first time in 5 or 6 or 7 years - before we traded away Pommer and Miller and Vanek and Gaustad, and let Briere and Drury get away .... after having sat through Ville (frank)ing Leino, Ron Rolston, and a long long LONG list of bland non-heroes I won’t even bother to name, this year We all know we have genuinely turned the corner.

And we have the mother(frank)ing leafs in our barn. And we have Jack, and Skinner, and Sam, and Rasmus, and Rasmus, and McCabe, and Connor, and Hutton, and when the season really goes, we’ll add Casey and Tage.

Well Tavares and Kadri lines played last night. So we’ll get Matthews line and their 4th line of Lindholm, Johnsson, Kapanen tonight. They split their squads equally id say. I’m proud of our Rochester squad keeping pace last night

curious who gets the extended look for the kids after they make initial cuts for rochester tomorrow, rochester opens up camp monday

I hope pilet, asplund, smith, malone, o regan get serious looks as I think we are better with a few of them with the big club then larsson, girgens, wilson, beaulieu, etc


side note guhle is having a rough start, pilet IMO might be ahead of him for that 6th/7th slot

Guhle and Mitts have both been underwhelming and I am usually the most optimistic person on this board. I am a huge fan of Pilut, I think he’s fantastic.

ullmark was a minute eater for rochester, and their D was worse then ours, which is telling


I think it's a 50/50 split, which IMO is a good thing in a cap era
