If the San Jose Sharks and Erik Karlsson hope to agree to an eight-year contract extension, Pierre LeBrun said they’ll have to wait a while. He cites a little-known rule in the CBA stipulating players traded during the final year of their contracts have to wait until after the trade deadline to re-sign an eight-year deal with their new team. This year’s deadline is Feb. 25, 2019.

I believe Darnold will learn from the mistakes he made

I don’t believe Allen is at that point yet

Allen will learn more from playing than watching
But not if he isn’t prepared
Not if he’s overwhelmed

Film study & practice can help get him to that point imo

We all knew Allen was the least ready coming out & would need lots of time to develop

Rushing him in can have diminishing returns
It can lead to developing bad habits,
which then become pretty hard to break

I’m not sure he’s got it figured out but you can tell he’s got it going on.

I gotta be honest, I never thought he'd even get back to where he is now. I figured he'd win a few tournaments here or there purely by chance and getting hot with his putter, but to be consistent like he's been, no way.

Edit: 16th on the money list despite playing less than most, 17 events. Rose, Koepka(16), and McIlroy are the only others ahead of him that have played the same or less. And all those guys have wins.

So he’s not even at the point where he is making mistakes to learn from

He’s just running around playing backyard football,
occasionally making plays based on his athleticism

Idk. I doubt you see him make that interception play again where he was getting sacked and he tried to throw to a stationary receiver.

Unless they're giving him the Men in Black red flashy thing after a game, he should be learning from mistakes

Spot on especially the last part. We used to joke about check down QBs but Allen cant do that. Look at the miss throw to Murphy which could have been a big gain, Missed. He is now at a level you cat get by off sheer athletic ability.
