I don't think anyone questions McDavid, but did you see the rosters yesterday.

I just feel bad for Strome. It was unkind of Petersson to completely break both of his ankles. |

I’m old now. Can’t remember that many posts ago.
Recently reached 55. Pro at my golf course told me I was eligible to play in the senior club championship. Would have decked him if it wasn’t for my arthritis.
Moved to Canada May 2, 1967 by boat. Watched the leafs win the cup with my uncle that night. Been a jinx ever since. - Dr. Leaf

RNH could be a good sleeper pick in drafts, if he plays with McDavid all year. McDavid is going to go off this year, again. |

Stop it, you're overhyping and sensationalizing him. It's only pre-season, Oilers haven't done anything yet.

You’re welcome😆
Partly true. I’ve shared fourth last row seasons tickets with three friends since 1990. I’ve aupported a lot
Of crap hockey.
I have our two old grey seats from maple leaf gardens in my basement. I miss that place. |

What a train wreck
https://torontosun.com/sp...n-he-was-traded-to-sharks
"According to Erik Karlsson, you’ll have to ask ownership or management. He would do it himself, but the last time he sat down and talked with owner Eugene Melnyk or general manager Pierre Dorion was 10 months ago.
“I haven’t spoken to any of them really since November of last year when they asked for my no-trade list,” Karlsson told Postmedia News in a one-on-one interview on Thursday. “That’s the way it is, I guess. That’s the only situation I know that’s been like this. It was what it was. I was there to play hockey and I did that to the best of my ability with what we had. That’s all that I worried about.
“Everything else around it is above my pay grade. That’s not my question to ask.” |

The game has changed.
Guys no longer want to play the body as much, because sure, you can knock the guy off the puck, but you are now out of position, and you aren't guaranteed possession. The new way is to stick check so that you can immediately seize the puck and go with it.
I'm not saying I like the new way - I like clean but physical play. But it is what it is.
Same thing with the slap shot - it's a dying part of the game. I'm not particularly happy about that development, either. - Atomic Wedgie
Until somebody figures out a way to do it and is nearly unstoppable; Ovechkin on the PP.
The Leafs were among the teams who used the slapshot the least last year. I'd really like them to find a way to use it more often, in the right scenario because it still has it's benefits if used correctly. Even something simple like shooting hard and low and going for the rebounds is the type of thing that comes handy in the playoffs to score some of those dirty goals. |

But what if you could?
They lost 500 hits..but what it they found more puck possession time and scoring chances and goals. - senstroll
It's still hockey. If you've watched one playoff game in your life you know that physicality matters when the games get close and the games get important. People can dispute the hit stats but we all know Komarov, Polak and Martin were hitters and they're all gone now. Without some guys who bring that element to the game, the Leafs are losing a dimension to the game that is still important.
I'm not saying sign guys that can't possess the puck. I'm saying a guy who can make a first pass but also crush a guy like Borgman, has a place on the team. |
