Ekblad just said that scores will be settled so he's all but assured next game against the Habs will be closely watched. I have no doubt their goon will run some guys and then Habs will do the same until the refs take control.
If the concerns about Ekblad's health are so important then maybe he should retire before he gets hurt too badly? Hockey is a contact sport that currently allows fighting so..... *poke, poke* - Brandon Smillie
Come on man...as a writer you can't be this homerish.
He sucker punched Ekblad. period.
It looked pretty obvious he did not want to fight...and rightfully so it is pre season these games are meaningless. They are purely for camp battles for depth positions and letting the vets go for a bit of a skate to get into game shape.
It was a pretty disgusting move by Domi. The Kesler punch was great because they both agreed to fight. However in this case it was just a dirty cheapshot. |

Ekblad didn't want to fight because Domi already had a penalty. Stop with the "because it's pre-season" garbage. Huberdeau fought in that game. As for Ekblad's comments after, they just make it even more likely nothing will happen because the league will warn both teams before their next game. It was a sucker punch and Domi is sitting for it. The end. It's not defendable but not as highly criminal as some here are making it out to be.
The Habs have played a game since and are playing tonight which should a really interesting game with Kotkaniemi centering top line. Those should be topics of convo. Not this recycled whining. |

... also will deadpoulet keep me warm?
Who is he centering? Because you could probably list a few names that might be on their first line. |

Well said. And just for the pre-season, maybe the refs should intervene before this kind of crap happens, if it's so bothersome because they're all "meaningless games" |

I feel that since he is not sticking with the line he started with and is just a domi stop gap, it solidifies that he will be back in finland.
But you already knew that |

Drouin and Armia are on the first line, I think. But I won't center it. |

I know it's preseason, and it's too early to get excited, but I'm a bit excited. This team has a totally different vibe from last year (#attitude?) |

he's very good.
yes it's preseason, he plays againts B and C teams, but yet. even though it's been over 20 years since we had a real center, we can still recognize one when we see one. give him a year or 2 to bulk up, he'll save MB' ass. |

Because a bad team that has the direction to rebuild is a lot more acceptable than a bad team that has the direction try and sneak into the playoffs |

If the team doesn't quit like last year and puts in the effort, even though they're not overly talented, it'll already be more interesting |
