NHL.com released their top 50 and Suzuki is t in it.......the Montreal radio is just trying to appease their fans
Norris drafted only a few spots behind Suzuki.....similar prospects. One played CHL and one played NCAA - sensarmy_11
I don't believe they're (team690) are biased. They roast everyone, even on the Habs. I'm guessing they just got their list from a different source or sports outlet than you? |

The Hockey News has him listed at 27th overall. But this was before the 2018 draft. |

He's fallen/been overtaken significantly since February (when that list was made) |

Formenton and Duchene looked really strong on penalty kill.
This is the best period of hockey I have seen from Duchene.
And, Formenton has been going really hard to the net. Pretty easy to like the style of play in first period. |

The wind destruction in Dunrobin and other areas close to the CTC is unbelievable. Looks like a full scale hurricane went through. Large areas of city without power. Surprised they have been able to get the game in. |

Over 1/3 of all Ottawa households are without power as a result of the storms/tornados.

Serious cuts this morning including Brown and Batherson being sent down to Belleville.
The rookies fighting for positions include Formenton, Tkachuck, White and Chlapik up front. Not surprised that Wolanin and Jaros are hanging in fighting for defensive position. Surprised that Lajoie also still in camp. Coaches love his positional play but he does not look to me that he is physically ready.
I am sticking with my original prediction that Formenton starts on the 1st line with Duchene and Dzingle. Tkachuck looks like he has won a starting job with Tierney and Stone on second line.
Bobby Ryan looks like he is struggling to try and keep up. Is he a candidate for a buy out? |

Next buy out window for Bobby Ryan is June 2019. It would cost $1.8m per year for 6 years. It represents an actual total saving of $5m. More important it opens a space for a young guy on an entry level deal to be added to the roster. |

I think White likely has the best chance of making the team. I feel Chlapik has played quite well but I don't think all of him, formenton and Tkachuck can make the team.

I always thought buy outs cut the cap hit in half, and then spread it out over twice the years. So it wold be 3.6 over six years. But looking at the numbers 1.8 is half of 3.6.
You said it would save them 5 million? In what way exactly? |

I am trying to read tables off of Capf so I could be reading it wrong. I think that the actual money owing is around $16m over the last three years of the contract. The 16m. gets reduced to $11m and the three years changes to 6 years for the actual buyout period.
The actual dollar reduction for the balance owing is less than the cap hit because parts of the original contract were front end loaded (I think). |
