We're talking about Donskoi and then all of a sudden you switch gears to attack California fans by calling them uneducated because our teams bring in less money than a huge market like Montreal? The attendance for all 3 California teams is 95% or better, which is pretty much on par with the rest of the league and all 3 teams are profitable. We're not talking about Arizona here. Sharks hockey does very well - Anaheim and LA have to compete with each other + a ton of other large market sports franchises so it does make sense that they struggle a bit more.

But the issue is really clouded by dramatic US tax changes (including decreased corporate tax rates to make U.S. C-corps competitive again so a host of new crossborder tax planning strategies now), enhanced enforcement of FATCA, and a crackdown on dual citizens. All of which are crushing Canadian businesses and bleeding hundreds of millions of Canadian dollars. (Ever heard of the transition tax? If not, you're not qualified to discuss the matter.)
