Goldobin was terrible. Why should he get a pass? Motte and Archie are going to utica so who cares. Beagle did his job as did Schaller. They weren’t brought into provide offense. Goldobin sucked offensively and defensively so of course he is being called out - CanuckDon
That's my exact point - was Goldobin bought in to defend?? (frank) no, then why the double standard?

its not really a double standard though. If he produces offensively, but sucks defensively (like ovechkin), than I would imagine there is merit to keeping him around. If he isn't producing offensively, and is non-existent defensively, I don't see why there is any reason to keep him in the lineup. I think Green was bang on, he had a fantastic game the other night with Pettersson and Baertschi, and was non existant last night with the same line mates, and there has to be consistency at this level in order to remain relevant

Kid pisses me off because he has so much potential but decides to take shifts off because he made a nice play or worked hard the previous shift. I hope he turns it around or else bye bye
P.S. He is NOT good enough to suck on his mouth guard when the whistle blows

Well..if he had scored a goal and generated more than one shot perhaps he wouldnt have been called out? He has to score to get a pass is what I’m saying

I hate when they suck on their mouth guards 😡😡😡 Patrick Kane started it!
Leaf fans are hilarious. Nylander was gods gift from the heavens who according to them, is better than Taylor Hall and Leon Draisaitl. But when it comes time to pay the kid, he isn't worth that kind of money
I heard his dad Michael Nylander was an a$$ as well when it came to contract negotiations.

Can you blame the kid? I’d demand a 10% premium to play for the leafs as well. He is probably hoping for a trade

I agree he didn't play well - but he did come back and win the game after sitting cold on his a$$ for half the period - no mention of that?? Sure, call him out but do the same for Virtanen, Schaller & Granlund too - they were all invisible, sure they did a few things well defensively, nothing outstanding, but all were black holes of offensive production - why don't they have to be better? Why doesn't their consistency warrant a call out? I feel like Green holds grudges

Granlund played fairly well and Virtanen and Schaller are Lock’s. Goblin Leipsic are the bubble players that are fighting for the last spot. The fact green is calling him out means he cares about the kid.

I get your theory but it's ridiculous - offensive guys are gonna have their off nights, happens to the everyone, elite guys, superstars, vets,
I thought Boeser had a pretty quiet night too - no mention of his effort? I guess he gets a pass cus of his hair?

I think that you just compared goldobin with Ovechkin..... I'm just going to leave that out there and aren't going to comment further.

Boeser probably gets a pass because it was his first game of pre-season.
Goldy had a really good game with Pettersson in his first game of pre-season and than pooped the bed.

I should have said generate offense and not “score.” He sucked. Suck it up. Boeser generated plenty of chances and green would be run out of town if he went after their star player after a preseason game. Just like real life Brooks, hockey isn’t always fair. If Goldobin doesn’t want to put in a more consistent effort he can try the Khl. I don’t doubt he would excel in Russia or the A.

All coaches do. It's something the players have to operate around.

Virtanen played 4th line minutes and is defensively responsible.... apples and oranges.
