Dude, don't question the best coaching staff we've ever had in forever.

Kesler was also two years younger. Maybe he’s ready, maybe he’s not. Also, there is no guarantee that Gaudette ends up playing in the top 6 in Itica. The coaches there want to win just as much as NHL coaches do, and AHL vets often find themselves in prime offensive roles. - 1970vintage
This might not be popular as many are still sore from Kesler moving on but he was way better prepared to play in the NHL than Gaudette is. I like Gaudette and think he has some potential but Kesler came in super hungry and would of made Motte's inspiring performance look like Eriksson.
We haven't had a player come in with Kesler's determination since, it also helped that he was an excellent skater, something Gaudette struggles with.
Edit.
Also if Gaudette can't help Utica win while playing in the top 6 then there is no way he is ready for NHL.
AHL is for development, use it. The team is reluctant enough already. |

It is not giving up on them. It is there are only so many roster spots and so far neither has stepped up to claim it.
This is what I have so far
? Bo Brock
Sven EP Roussel
JV Sutter Motte
Schaller Beagle Archie - VANTEL
Archie is a plug. not worth it. Granlund is better. archie=biega of forwards. |

He will work his way up the lineup, probably won't start on the first line in Utica. He's not played that well, don't see him making the roster. As many have said, Motte deserves to start. I think lipstick has earned it too. Saunter looks good, couple gafs last night but makes Hutton makes him look like Tanev. Tanev is the best player on this team |

That’s BS and you know it. NHL coaches don’t always play the “best players”. They will play the players they think give them the best chance to win. A guy with 300+ AHL games often ends up being a teams #1 C, even though he will never see a sniff of the NHL. - 1970vintage
The AHL vets are the best players but younger players like Gaudette are on a much steeper learning curve. Very easily for Gaudette to surpass an AHL vet in no time, to where Gaudette could end in the NHL and not the AHL vet. |

Take Kesler out of the equation, forget I ever mentioned him. It wasn’t meant to compare Gaudette to Kesler. The point is not every player benefits from playing in the AHL, each path is different.
As far as where a player plays that is up to the coaches. Carter Bancks isn’t making the NHL any time soon but has regularly been the first line winger in the AHL. Reid Boucher, Brendan Gaunce, Grenier... coaches at every level prefer experienced players to rookies, so being a rookie in Utica may mean playing behind more experienced players, which has nothing to do with his readiness to play in the NHL. |

If you feel the need to decide which ugly chick you need to invite to the prom then by all means have a blast. I don't think anyone of them will make any difference to the team and are not worth the print. So slot whomever you want there it won't matter. |

From a scout - Pettersson’s even strength points will come as he figures out the smaller ice surface. He is a stud on the pp. He is not one dimensional. He is the real deal and I can see him someday ending up as the best player in his draft. #Canucks

Leipsic always seems to look good out there ....I think he is closer to Sven granny etc than Gaunce gagner....I think there is still hope for Goldy too |

I’m getting tweener vibes from Leipsic, but I hope he proves me wrong.
I still think he could carve out a decent NHL career if he played with the same tenacity he did in junior. I know he’s a small dude so I’m not expecting him to throw his weight around and drop the gloves but more just agitate, like Brendan Gallagher does.
Goldobin has the high end skill so I’m okay with giving him a longer leash than other bubble players but he needs to keep improving away from the puck. Green was able to get Baertschi’s game turned around and I think he’s trying to do the same with Goldy. |

I have a hard time liking Sven in the top 6
For Canucks to raise themselves out of the basement they need more Boesers Petterssons and Bo's not more Mason Raymonds |

Gallagher is fearless, he goes to the hard areas, thus he scores. When small guys, like Baertschi who was a perimeter player, go to the paint they score. |

he's good, just seems so frail and not to play well injured/recovering. I think Baer has looked like one of our better guys. |

so you pulled specific names off of the waiver wire because you wanted to point them out. But not because you wanted them - neem55
That is exactly why I did it . I was even considering writing the POOR BASTARDS
I think you should stick to worrying about which #12 and 13 forward make the team |
