Its a scoring black hole - Nighthawk
Probably half of Van's shots in the game was the D lofting the puck towards the net from the blue line with no screen in front. |

I see it the opposite. I see the D loking bad because the goalies let in everything - VANTEL
Do people blame poor goalie mechanics or positioning on the d-men? My experience, goalies are the first to get called out whether they deserve it or not.
I hope the D-core can clear the front net and keep shots to the outside. Any kind of sustained pressure and our goalies won't be able to deal with it. |

I compared their defensive capability, and it was an easier comparison as they are both from Russia, but there isn't a comparison other than that. Russians hate playing defense, lets face it. - Codes1087
Datsucks at defense? Being an Asian minority doesn't give you the right to be prejudicial and generalize any race other then your own... racist, now get back in the box. |

Well, that's just another angle to the problem. Are they able to compensate for their (frank)ups?
No seems to be the consensus. |

lol, well find me 5 Russian players, who CURRENTLY play, not named Kucherov, that is a good defensive minded Russian forward, and I will retract my demeaning, prejudicial and generalizing statement for all my Russian homies. |

I think goal tending will the issue - VANTEL

I think that's the point. The D isn't helping the goalies and the goalies aren't helping out the D. |

Depending on who you are talking to, they all have one thing they think is wrong with the team, causing them to lose.
I'm just going through the flash cards for you. |

With the exception of Edler & Tanev the Canucks defense is a dumpster fire. |

Let me just get out my notes... Ah, hear it is!
I don't know, I'd have to watch the quality of shot again to see if it was a whiff by the goalie or not.
I can recollect 1 or 2 weak goals per game on a consistent basis though, but the canucks usually let in more than two goals a game so I always thought of it as a collective team breakdown more than just poor goaltending. |

Both goaltenders were sieves at times last year. Markstrom & Nilsson both let in first shots and other horrifyingly weak goals last year. |

I am not sure what we are disputing because I want to see the D changed too. In fact I was suggesting to switch out a Dman and bring in Sautner to bigpeter |

Moulson is a good friend/mentor of Eichel's, Eichel lived at Moulson's place in Buffalo during the season.
And Buffalo still didn't give a poop and waived his ass for poor play. I respect them for that.
I'm all for trading Edler, but at the TDL, not now. Then maybe re-sign him during the summer if it's at a reasonable cost. - Nucker101
Was he house sitting while Moulson and his family were in California? |

Yes, and still an issue?
I'm not commenting on your post specifically, it's just that NHL officiating will always be questionable but at least it's questionable for every team.
I do think many canuck fans take their issue with refing a bit too far. The call-in shows and online comment sections are full of it. Media types do little to calm fans irrational belief that there is some greater force at work against our team.
Just ask Bettmanhatesus. - bloatedmosquito
