i said it in a precious thread and ill say it again.... the sky is opening for carter hart. lyon got hurt... hart moves up. neuvirth broke before the season started (like most of you predicted) and carter hart sees more action.
and he looks solid!! he looks better than the rest of our goalies right now.
ive never been one to rush a goalie into this league but when the hockey gods give gifts like they are doing for hart he just needs to run with it. id love to see him share a crease with elliott for at least a little while this season - sILKAsSINASALO
I think there is a chance that Hart sees some NHL action this season but I seriously doubt that Hextall is ready to put that gift under the tree. I don't see Hextall rushing Hart just because Neuvirth injured a groin. I think he would go out and pick up depth from the waiver wire or some other cheap way than to rush Hart to the NHL. They want him playing in the AHL this season.

Mobile streaming: r/NHLStreams. Bots make threads for every NHL game like 2 hours prior or something. Users post streams on the threads. You'll be forced to click around to find the best stream and might have to deal with annoying popups.
PC streaming: r/NHL_Games. Download the program: any NHL game in high def, including on demand "replayability" if the game is over and you want to watch it/rewatch it. No blackouts. If you must download a media player like VLC, download that too, but I don't think you'll have to at this point in the program's development. You will download it as a zip to your downloads file. Right click the zip folder, unzip the file, and move it to a destination on your computer. You'll be able to browse and choose where you'd like to store it. I recommend making a folder in your OS file and as new versions come out you can just store them there. It's up to you. To run the program, double click the .exe file. Once it's running, would recommend right clicking the icon that pops up on your task bar to show you it's running, and pin it to your task bar for ease of access.
PC streaming on iOS: I believe there is a program for this too. It's called lazyman. You can find that on NHL _Games too, I think, but I'm not sure. Don't have a Mac. |

i think he will see NHL action this season. i really do. and if he plays well and gets a hot hand how can hextall send him down?
i am with you and think its best for him to see the A for at least a season but stranger things have happened. it will still be exciting to see him in orange and black this upcoming season.
this youth infusion to the team is a lot of fun to watch. this is the most exciting year i can remember since 2010 |

I think he'll see a handful of games. Keeping him up will be a last resort for Hextall in my opinion.

Unfortunately Elliott is having a hard time finding his game. If he continues to play poorly as the season starts people are going to get desperate. Going into the season with their #1 & 2 goalies coming off major surgery is starting to look like a bad move. |

It all depends on Elliott. If he can regain his form Stoli can backup and the kid can get a bunch of starts in the AHL. If Elliott plays poorly all bets are off. |

I was at the game last night and Hart looks and plays the part really well. However, it's hard to gauge how good he really is/can be going against NHL/AHL tweeners.
I also agree with BiggE Misha should be the 3C. Good two way guy who can also create. Laughton, Lehtera, Raffl would be the 4th line for me. |

I agree with everything you wrote here.
However, with the injury history of the current crop of goaltenders, there is a possibility that Hextall's hand may be forced and he might have to play Hart in the NHL sooner than he'd like.
Elliot is coming off of surgery and not getting any younger. Neuvirth is Neuvirth and I'm frankly surprised they even brought him back. Stolarz is coming off of surgery where he was on the shelf for a year. Lyon is currently hurt.
It's not out of the question that Hart ends up being the only alternative. |

While I don't want to rush Hart, I'm tired of good flyers teams being downed by bad goaltending. We have the making of a solid team but that don't mean poop if the men between the pipes don't play well. I'm not sure what the answer is now but it's really getting frustrating |

Need to avoid buyouts. This year it would be no issue but the following season, Provorov, Konecny, and Sanheim need to be re-signed. Might be looking to add more from outside as the team gets better. I'd rather bite the bullet and work around it and be done with it this season. - MJL
I Agree with this. It’s not like he is blocking anyone. We have five under contract so no need to search for another contract. Just ride him out. Save our money for next year. Resign who we can at fair contracts from some of our skaters. Let a couple unneeded contracts expire (I’m not talking about Simmer). If Hexy does well with out resigning then he could have more money in the free agent market to find another fit. Not to mention that he has some trade assets. I think there is a better chance then not that a D will get moved by the trade deadline for more assess to work with. |

If Elliott wasn't coming off major surgery, I'd agree with this. But if he is only able to start 50-60% of the Flyers games until Neuvirth returns, I don't think they are just going to roll with some NHL/AHL waiver wire tweener starting 40% or so of their games. Hart looks clearly better than Stolarz right now and I think he'd be the guy in that situation. The kid has a good head on his shoulders and I don't think they'd be doing any damage to his psyche whatsoever were he to start 4 or 5 of the Flyers first 10-12 games and then, if Neuvirth is healthy and ready to go, he was sent to LHV.
I know it's rare to see a goalie come right from Junior into the NHL but it has happened. But it's also rare to see a goalie come out of Junior with the combined numbers and accolades of Carter Hart.

i agree completely. and then the question is that if hart plays really well what do they do with him? keep him up or send him down?
its a good problem to have (referring to hart, not the injured guys)

Hextall's desire to develop Hart in a certain way is not going to win out if the organization is out of goaltenders.
It's not like they are going to sign someone off the street to play in the NHL because they are so scared to play Carter Hart in the NHL. |

It's pre-season. I place little stock on how veteran players like Elliott play in the pre-season. It's extremely premature for any of that thinking.
