Hart in the NHL this year should be for emergency purposes only. Let him see a season of pro competition in the AHL. No sense rushing him to the NHL. Hart doesn't make them a contender (yet) |

It would be unfortunate if they lost a lot of games due in a large part to goaltending.
I truly agree with the fact that probably one of these youngsters becomes your starter but going in with Elliot/Neuvirth is just asking for trouble.
Imo have to hope one of Lyon/Stolarz can grab the reigns a bit. Not sure Elliot can give you more than 50. |

Fun fact: Brian Elliot has only played in 50+ games once.

I really think this is the plan. The only problem is all 4 other guys can’t seem to stay healthy. Hart will hopefully be given the opportunity to develop at his own pace. |

After watching Lehtera I am not confident he is the right choice for the 4th line. I understand the NHL veteran stuff, but he is slow. Just looks out of place. Slide Laughton to center and use someone else on wing. |

We couldn't give Neirvirth away this summer for free, now we really can't.
Lets start with Carter Hart and Stoltz. We'll be fine. Better then Brian Elliot who is gone after the season anyhow. |

I don't believe he is an NHL player but I could certainly be wrong about that.

If all these (frank)ers keep getting hurt, that might happen. Obviously not plan A, B or C... |

Could not agree less. Lehtera is a better center. Slide Laughton to wing, at least until we find someone who will trade a pick for him. |

I agree his injuries are frustrating and I don't trust him but you just can't say they should've moved on from him in the off season. How much of a market do you think there was for an oft injured and inconsistent goaltender? - MJL
Then u buy him out as cap hit was minimal |

Why would the Flyers want to trade Laughton? He is going to be a good player for the Flyers this season.
What happened to Vecchione?

Good one. |

That was an option but why do that? The much better option wold be to waive him and send him down. That's now less likely with the injury to Lyon unless they think Stolarz is ready to backup. If it's a groin, that can linger. That's the worry and don't want to get into having to over play Elliott again. They might want to look at the waiver list and see who becomes available. They have too many goalies under contract as is. They could go with 3 goalies and 13 forwards. - MJL
As u said too many goalies under contract. That’s why u buy him out to free up a goaleo spot of it was needed. |

Answer the questions. - MJL
Laughton is playing the best hockey of his career this year in camp, good enough to be the 13th forward. He is pretty much interchangeable in games with Knight, Carey, Varone.
The reality is that the Mike Vecchione who showed up to camp this year is a less capable player than the one who should have bee 4C last year. I don;t know why, but he deserves to be cut.
And the Vorobyev who showed up to camp is Jeckyl Vorobyev and not Hyde Vorobyev. IF he doesn't get lazy and take nights/shifts off, and continues to play disciplined he should be 3C, he will help the PK and have a long stint as 4C as soon as Frost (and/or Lycksell) is ready. |
