Laughton is playing the best hockey of his career this year in camp, good enough to be the 13th forward. He is pretty much interchangeable in games with Knight, Carey, Varone.

- hockeyal

You're wrong. None of those 3 players are NHL players and have been sent down to the minors. Laughton is a lock to make the team. I expect him to be an every day player in the lineup for the most part.

The reality is that the Mike Vecchione who showed up to camp this year is a less capable player than the one who should have bee 4C last year. I don;t know why, but he deserves to be cut.

- hockeyal

The reality is that Vecchione has not proven he is an NHL player or made an NHL team to this point. Laughton is a better player than Vecchione at this point.

Need to avoid buyouts. This year it would be no issue but the following season, Provorov, Konecny, and Sanheim need to be re-signed. Might be looking to add more from outside as the team gets better. I'd rather bite the bullet and work around it and be done with it this season.

They will not be near the cap ceiling even with those deals. Neuvirths dead money would be negligible with other contracts like lehtera and Raffl coming off. He’s just a waste of time for everyone and his presence just causes chaos thinking we could possibly rely on him. Other positions it’s no big deal but when your a goalie it’s different

Martel claimed by Tampa
- bulet13

Does that
Mean they have to keep him on the NHL team?

Read my post and what I said. I talked about more than just those deals. Future years including next season is when you want to have as much flexibility as possible. Better to get the deal done this year.

For 10 games and then they can waive him but he could be claimed then too

I’m not sure why guys are suggesting we buy guys out....they are not in any cap crunch ....so why not let some of these guys either go on waivers (not likely to be claimed) play in the minors or simply sit in the press box....I think they have the room now that if young players deserve to un seat guys like Lehtera, Weise and Neuvirth then so be it.

None of those FOUR players are NHL players. There, I fixed it for you.

In this year's camp, I agree. But he didn't clearly out perform the LV centers in camp. Which is what I said.

There, I fixed it for you.

Their cap issues are overblown. They could sign another big fish next summer if they wanted to, although they made their bed with jvr, even with resigning those players. As I said neuvirths dead money would be negligible for this year and next. I’m aware of the flexibility theyll need to have when it comes time

Listen.

Mobile streaming: r/NHLStreams. Bots make threads for every NHL game like 2 hours prior or something. Users post streams on the threads. You'll be forced to click around to find the best stream and might have to deal with annoying popups.

PC streaming: r/NHL_Games. Download the program: any NHL game in high def, including on demand "replayability" if the game is over and you want to watch it/rewatch it. No blackouts. If you must download a media player like VLC, download that too, but I don't think you'll have to at this point in the program's development. You will download it as a zip to your downloads file. Right click the zip folder, unzip the file, and move it to a destination on your computer. You'll be able to browse and choose where you'd like to store it. I recommend making a folder in your OS file and as new versions come out you can just store them there. It's up to you. To run the program, double click the .exe file. Once it's running, would recommend right clicking the icon that pops up on your task bar to show you it's running, and pin it to your task bar for ease of access.

PC streaming on iOS: I believe there is a program for this too. It's called lazyman. You can find that on NHL _Games too, I think, but I'm not sure. Don't have a Mac.

Thanks for the heads up on the NHL_Games app. Seems like a better alternative to the NHL streams reddit at this point.

You can fix it all you want doesn't change that Laughton is an NHL player and that Vecchione isn't and has never been. Gostisbehere is also a top defenseman in the league and on and on and on.

Who said they had cap issues? Why have any dead money when there is no need to. I don't think you are aware at all.

Lines at practice today

G-Couts-TK
JVR-Patrick-Voracek
Lindblom-Vorobyev-Simmonds
Laughton-Knight-Raffl
Goul-Weal-NAK
Leier-Lehtera-Twar

Provy-Ghost
MacD-Gudas
Hagg-Folin
Friedman-Myers

Weise and Sanheim not practicing.

Top 3 lines are great. Seeing Knight center Laughton and Raffl is kind of concerning to me. If Weal isn't going to center a line, I think the next best choice is Laughton. Thenk you could go Raffl-Laughton-NAK or Twar.

After the top pairing on defense, it's also concerning. I would prefer to see Myers in the top 6.

Weal has been given a fair shake at center up to this point but has lost the camp battle to Vorobyev. Weal has been excellent on face offs, and Vorobyev although very good in zone play, is a liability at the dot. It would be good to see Weal on his wing to help with face offs even if it means bumping Lindblom down to 4th to start. It would be temporary and give Vorobyev time to improve at face offs.

Correct, but some of the contention to signing him was the # of contract slots we had available. Just pointing out we opened up a space.

According to Elliotte Friedman, the flyers tried to make a play for Panarin before landing JVR
- arichardson22

I'm happy with JVR he looks much more mature and poised this time around
