I’m hoping today is the day I collect my money from the bet I placed on him earlier in the year. I bet a couple friends he would win this year. - bryant
does it count, not a full field event?

I don't know why we are fighting here.
If you think logically about the analogy, America would have two armpits, so it could be Buffalo and somewhere else.
Morning, fellas.
Is today the day we fall three points behind the Ckeveland franking Browns in the wildcard race? - Atomic Wedgie
Wedge Antilles, if you really think about it, Buffalo is more like the deltoid of America.

Rory McIlroy will win.
Try golfing 4 rounds in 4 days with a bad back. It gets tired, sore and aches. That complicates the swing. Look at what happened to Tiger heading home yesterday. - Der Kaiser

Was at the game last night. I know the laffs were not at full strength and they did win the game, but, it seemed to me that in the first and most of the second the Sabres had the ability to dominate at times. Certainly that first line did. Its going to be exciting to watch Jack and Skinner develop chemistry together. Those two could be sick together.

Top players in the field? I would say it counts. The only top player missing is spieth, and he’s been poop this year. |

I’m wagering on Rory. Tiger didn’t miss anything on the front nine and then scrambled like mad on the back.
Rory missed three birdies by less than an inch - would have been tied - and played consistently all day. I just think he has more going for him on this course, and as an old man, I know how the body breaking down gets in the way of accomplishing the athletic success we used to have |

Anyone disagree? I guess I thought maybe Wilson was in trouble, but, sure I could see it. That leaves 3 spots
Girgs, Larsson, Thompson, Asplund, Nylander, Bailey, Baptiste
I'm guessing they go with Bailey, Girgs and Thompson - jcragcrumple
I think Zemgus is a lock too. Asplund in Rochester for sure. Thompson and Nylander probably in Rochester. Larsson/Bailey/Baptiste for the final 2/3 spots.
It's the easy way out. No one gets waived. No one has really forced their way onto the team, and everyone going down could use a little more time. Bailey/Baptiste as 4th line/press box is far from ideal though. Might be better off sending one down and hoping they clear.

Toronto has a very fast team, right down to their fourth liners. Besides the first line, the Sabre players have adopt more of an "awareness" of where their team mates are in the offensive zone. There were quite a few passes to "phantom players" last night by the Sabre players. |

What more would you like to see from Thompson, Nylander or Pilut?
Has Larsson even had a shot on goal yet? |

Thompson's been too much of a defensive liability. I imagine Nylander and Thompson will get another crack or two in the top 6 this week. They both still have a shot.
Pilut will be in Rochester. I think that's an easy call.
Larsson is a placeholder at 4C. I know everyone wants to run him out of town, but he's been decent so far. If ERod is moved to 4C, that's fine too. |

Count the dump-ins from the leafs vs. the Sabres. The leafs very rarely dumped the puck in.
If our bottom six consists of the players it's trending toward, we're gonna be dumping a lot. Watch the Tavares goal. Girgensons gets to center ice, panics, and throws it in the corner. Puck comes back down the ice for a goal. Not saying it's his fault, but stylistically that's what we're gonna get from a Wilson, Larsson or Girgensons.
I think Housley is too risk-adverse to actually take a risk of assembling a Sobotka-Asplund-Baptiste line, but that's the future of the NHL |

I have no love for Larsson. I'm just predicting a very conservative final roster. If he's 4C/press box, I'm not particularly bothered by it.

I can't stand Larsson but i think you are right. The easiest thing to do is keep the dregs (Larsson, Wilson, Girgs) vs the young guys (Thompson, Asplund, Nylander). Bailey has been noticeable so he should make the team. Baptiste (unfortunately) not so much. I personally would rather have Baptiste and Bailey on the team vs Larsson and Wilson but that's me.

The nice thing about vets like Larsson and Wilson is that you can put them in press box. 4th line/press box might crush any development Bailey/Baptiste have left. Right now, I'd slot Bailey as 4RW.

Feels like the only other viable 4C's are ERod and Zemgus, and I don't think either have been playing C. |

What has Larson done that qualifies as “decent” to you. It seems to me he has been exactly what he was throughout the tank - a marginally competent fourth line player, easily replaceable, and not showing any further upside.
At this point, the same goes for Girgensons.
I’d give their jobs to two of the kids, leave the AHL jobs to AHL talent, waive Girgs and Larsson and let them figure out their own problems. |
