I'm hoping the 2 C... Which would push Domi back to the wing along with Drouin and Gallagher... Lekhonen, Danault, Scherbak, Poehling and Hudon could be in the top 9 conversation also! Just don't see a need to keep Byron for 5 years, nothing against the player, I just think the right call was to gain an asset and clear up a spot
- obie

yes, but for now Byron is better than all of them.
Danault is a C, different sotry.

So who are the 13 F to make this team this year? And include Shaw and Deslauriers as their injuries won't keep them out too long...

tatar - danault - gally
drouin - domi - lekhonen
byron - peca - armia
deslauriers - plek - shaw

dlr and hudon as 13th and 14th

so they'll keep 1 or 2 kids extra while deslauriers and shaw are ready.
and that is counting kotkaniemi goes back to europe.

Kind of a raw deal for Hudon! Suzuki back to juniors and Scherbak and McCarron to Laval?

yep.

as for hudon, he needs to prove he's better than Byron and Armia to move up to the top9. not counting shaw when he comes back.
he has a chance to pass Armia imo, that's it.

Agreed, although I think Hudon will be in the top 12.

Wouldn't be shocked to see Scherbak traded at this point. But they won't waiver him.

Its hard to move pass players when you're the 14th F and guys ahead of you have fairly big contracts

I'm not sure about the 9 game rule for Kotkaniemi as the rule states it is for "Junior eligible players" which he is not.
I think the 40 game rule still applies, but not so sure about the other one.

I keep hearing that the 4th line is not the place for so-and-so etc, but what if we rolled 4 lines and the 4th line had some quality to it and got decent ice time.
a 4th line of Sherback-Peca-Shaw for instance isn't a typical 4th line but still could look good (just an example) it seems like the talking heads want the 4th to be a tough, grinding, defensive line.

Armia has looked very "meh" since camp despite playing with Drouin and whoever.

Kind agree, but I have a feeling they will try Armia with Domi at least for the first 5-6 games if not more

I agree with you about the 4th line, I think this is what they're going for.

As for Kotkaniemi, I believe he is considered as "junior eligible players" since he would be eligible to play at the junior level if he was playing in NA.

yeah dlr and hudon will probably be on the 4th line with plek to start the season, since deslauriers and shaw are injured. who knows what happen when they come back? maybe there will be other injuries, or trades.
hudon could also be on the 3rd, and armia on the 4th. not impressed by armia so far. he's good in front of the net on the pp. that's about it.

I think because of pro experience he is not.
NHL, Laval or Pori I believe.

yep, they'll want to give Armia all the chances to succeed. like Domi btw. classic move when you acquire players by trade. I'm just no convince with Armia so far.

Shaw is close to be ready, he's already skating, just need to get cleared for contact.

Claude Julien mentioned some cuts could be coming for #habs after tonight’s game in Toronto. Could be a last look for some players in this one.
