I;'m confident even Dorion could get back more than that for Stone. It seems Kamenev is having trouble making the jump to the NHL from what I've read.

hes been looking better and better every preseaon game and practice he has been part of

Rookie showcase was a discouraging showcase for him but he and the team both came out and said he was told not to go all out for it, just work on getting back up to game speed since its been so logn since he has been part of live action

Still think he is going to be a soild 3rd line guy when its all said and done

I believe Stone and Duchene plus Anderson (or Condon) will be traded before the deadline.

I think the Sens will need to take back some salary. They will be close to being below the cap threshold. My guess is they will looking to pick up a couple of mid range first round picks (or prospect equivalents).

Duchene will reup to a stupid deal (8-9x7yrs) and be named Captain.

Not sure that makes a lot of sense for anyone.

It will be a save face move based on that trade. Duchene has the best chance of being resigning out of Stone IMO so I can see them making him the defacto leader oft his rebuild

I might have asked you this before, but is Rantanen the real deal? I'm looking to draft a RW early in my draft, and wondering if I should if he's available.

IMO Hes not signing an extension now, the guy is hitting the market and will get paid. What may have been the rationale back then in July, a lot has changed since then. They cant sign an extension till Jan 1st and a commitment to the rebuild, cant see them gambling in extending him after the deadline.

Stone is a hired gun who they will traded, same with Karlsson, samd with Turris and the others before them, Melynk wont open up his wallet to keep them. When the big boys in Friedman are getting solid information on him being on the market, its not if, its when he will be moved.

- DDM-Coga

You'e assesment of the situation is probably closet to what will go down. I just hopenwe can get a decent return for him despite Dorions terrible trade record.

He posted something on instagram the other day from his cottage saying how nice it was to come home on off days. I think he wants to play in Ontario and the Leafs arent an option. Maybe Buffalo or Montreal but theyre both going through rebuilds as well.

I think he is for real, even when away from MacKinnon when he was injured the guy was still generating his same production. Dont know if he has an over a ppg pace this year but I would say he is safe for 70pts

Dutchy is a hell of a talent but hes not the one for the politics of hockey. If he is happy at home, able to raise a family, etc I think he will put a lot more stock into that vs uprooting himself again and trying to score the biggest contract he can later on.

If he is paid reasonably (which would be the highest on the Sens now) I think he becomes the face of the rebuild and the Sens.

Melynk has been obsessed with Duchene for almost 2 years now, originally trying to trade for him while he played under Roy. Thats why I think he stays

really dont see any way that the Avs move the Sens pick back to them now that Karlsson is gone. Their own 1st sure, but not the Sens.

Agree 100 percent, Im happy with keeping him. Longterm Id rather have him than Stone, his elite speed will keep him relevant longer IMO.

It is a shame that only Leafs fans make dumb trade suggestions.

Your first stands to be a reasonable shot at what looks like the next franchise player.

Forget about the traded 1st round pick. 50/50 it will be fifth overall. Just get two mid 1st round picks at the deadline.

its not all doom and gloom with the Sens youth going foward, but I think there might be a little more pain in the trades that they will do as they sell off in an effort to rebuild.

Dont see it as the kids will help next year situation, this will be more of a 3 years of pain to have this thing really set up right for the future (if done right)

so 2 of the last 7 teams to finish 31st have won the lottery; pretty reasonable chance the sens DO NOT get JH.

If the trade is 4th overall 2019, S.V. for Stone, Dzingel, Anderson, and Sens first --- think value wise it's a pretty fair deal.

Also Avs have M.R., Stone, Jost, Landeskog as their wingers.

Even if they finish with the worst record in the entire league, it would still only be a 20% chance of yielding the #1 overall pick vs. just over a 50% chance of it being the #4 overall pick. And it's really not impossible for them to potentially finish somewhere closer to the 4th-6th last spot in the league... which is as depressing an interpretation of overachieving as you're likely to hear.

Jost is a C for now. He would be a wing if the get Hughes though. Second line is Kerfoot at LW, Jost at C, and RW is up bw Kaut, Andrighetto, maybe a dark horse in Kamenev

But I do agree, a guy like Stone would be the perfect fit for a line of Kerfoot and Jost however I think they wait to see what they have in those 2 first before even think about trying to trade for a Top 6 forward
