What's the outlook for Petterson's point production, 60 pts.?

The kid looks awesome.

He’s going to break records. What’s the rookie record for points?

i just don't see how you can waive goldy or leipsic at this point. goldy is the fringest at the moment but if he has another solid game with EP he'll be ok.

gagner is a different story - he really needs to get it going. realistically can't see him on waivers, but he feels like an extra right now.

it's hard to deny motte is playing well, but i also don't think it's the end of the world if you see if he can maintain his game for a couple of weeks in the AHL to start the year.

Everyone realizes it’s preseason right.....right.

There is no goofing around in preseason makita. We demand perfection and anything else is unacceptable, especially tanev on the PP

True about Motte if a numbers game.
Gagner isn’t pulling his weight & like any player should be it’s put out or be farmed out.

When it comes down to the final cuts...

It’s who can contribute over 82 games.
Role players are subject to sitting or demotion if cannot do it consistently.
That leaves many players on the bubble IMO

No tantrum. He’s useless on the PP & the definition of insanity. Anyone else out there could use the time & experience. 👍

My list of placeholders/bubble/fringe players...

Gaunce
Biega
Gagner
Nillson
& to lesser degrees
LE
Leipsic
& those who upped their game
Motte
& placeholders
Granlund
Hutton
Stetcher
Markstrom

The rest are here for awhile or possible TDL bait along with any of the above who fetch a wooden nickle.

70 assists is the rookie record...

Most assists by a rookie, one season: Peter Stastny (1980–81) & Joe Juneau (1992–93), 70

That's kinda what I was getting at with my over/under question earlier.

The lack of quality on the roster is terrible, Benning needs to keep adding picks to make sure EP/Brock/Bo/Hughes have an actual team around them in the future. Otherwise all of these bottom feeder finishes will be a waste.

You get stuck in mediocrity without quality depth, even if you have a nice core.

PO teams go nowhere fast without depth 👍
We are no PO team but getting there means we need many more pieces yet. A lot of turnover is a sure bet to happen.

While we know D is a HUGE job to fix the need for depth scoring upfront is a big job. Its looking brighter but far from close to done considering our prospects will actually pan out. More quality over quantity is a given & elite talent tops the list. Hughes will inject a lot but he needs more D help from the rest let alone a couple more stud F’s.
