I really wanted him to show well, but it was clear to me his speed was lacking those explosive steps. Without it, he was unable to show his skills/creativity that we have seen on highlights. He'll get a late season call up I'm sure

- Dahlen was not ready for the NHL, Palmu was good when the competition was more AHL type players which is okay. They need to learn and they have a great coach down there in Utica to do so.


To be honest, I expected more from Dahlen, time in the American League will serve him well though.

with all due respect to Hirsch, but I don't hold his opinion above any single poster here. He isn't anything more than a former goalie. It would be no different than Shorthouse doing opinions on player performance. I don't think Dahlen underperformed, he spent all last season on bigger ice, with a handful of games on North American sized rinks, its going to take a while to adjust.
