That, indeed, could be the case. I just know one of the sides is definitely NOT READY. Casey said so and all that.

Literally every team, ever benefits from extended drives on penalties.

New England has led the league a ton of times in 3rd down penalties for.

Allen proved he could make throws and protect the ball. In his 2nd career start on the road. It was impressive

So a drive gets extended by a dumb penalty and the kid still drove them down the field to score so he doesn't get credit for it?

On the Croom TD, not only was it a great play design but as it was alluded to on the broadcast and by a few posters here, Allen did the anti Tyrod thing. He didn't lock into his receiver, he looked off the safety which is why Croom was so wide open. But no he doesn't get credit for that because it was a "blown coverage" instead of why it was a blown coverage because Allen manipulated the safety on the play.

Allen also got the ball out at 2.44 second which is a huge improvement over the 3.3 seconds it took him against the Chargers. But no he isn't improving.

He threw 1 bad ball on the deep ball that he underthrew, which Romo said that it looked like he was trying to place it perfectly instead of just letting it fly, and then later in the game he did exactly what he needed to and just let it fly but Foster couldn't hold on. But no he isn't learning from his mistakes.

He also should have had another passing TD if Benjamin could hold on to a perfectly throw ball that Allen took a 3 step drop and fired a perfect ball. But no he is just an athlete.

Un freaking real.

The Bills defense played great 100%. They came to play. But so did Allen. With next to no weapons Allen moved the ball and put up points. But he isn't ready...

Does that sound about right?

Certain posters want to be "edgy" Allen played a great game. I guess the 3 drops were his fault. Oh and he didn't get to pad stats in the 4th because he had us up by too many points... his fault. It is unreal.

There were 2 plays that Allen needs to clean up.

One was the first deep pass which he fixed and improved later in that game.

The second one was when he was trying to avoid the sack and he was carrying the football like a sack of potatoes and he fumbled. He needs to tuck that in and hold on to the ball.

Other than those two plays he played damn near a perfect game for a huge road win in one of the loudest stadiums, against a defense that many consider the best and at worst a top 5 D.

All due to his "athletcism." And our Defense. And the other sides mistakes. And you're nitpicking.

(I think that's how it goes.)

Fonzie was never whirr-her-her-whir.

Would I have liked to see him ball out for the entire game? Absolutely

Was I thrilled that they didn't need him to ball out the entire game? 100% yes

They were 16.5 point underdogs and won the game by 21 points!

It was a great win all around!

I don't understand why people can't enjoy it.

I have studied the way of things for a very very long time. And while there is still a significant debate, I am certain that the better side of thhe cutting edge thinking among today's philosophers has concluded that

it is EXACTLY right.
Allen may need more time... but he
IS IN FACT learning on the job...which tends to reinforce the learnings much more deeply than hanging onto a clipboard practicing in ones head how to react.
I was skeptical, but I was wrong...and moreseo..happy to be wrong in this case.
Enjoy the ride!

apparently they wanted to see a lot of goals...

Stats needs to get better so that Berglund is not our regular 2nd line center

He'll get there...he needs solid linemates who can "coach him up" on the ice.
He does look different this preseason though...maybe thinking the game too much early on..hopefully that is a short-term issue and he settles into his game

I think too much is being made of this.

Mittelstadt, Nylander and Thompson got dominated by Tavares and Marner. That is true. But that's not likely to be a line in the season, especially on the road. He'll settle down

I was worried about him after the prospects challenge. I thought he would dominate and while he played well in the final game, he didn't dominate per say.

Still, I thought his game 1 last year was awful. He improved after a couple games, once he got his feet back under him. I suspect the same thing to happen here.

it is not uncommon for that to happen.. and usually they say it is because the player is over thinking things.. i think he will get there.

More than once he's had the puck, made a good play to gain zone entry, but tried to hold on too long only to get stripped. Overthinking for sure.
