U guys are acting like he had Matt Ryan’s game yesterday

When his statline was actually a typical Tyrod game

Come on now...

- jdfitz77

He had an entire Tyrod game in a half.

The other half was running out the clock because he scored so many points

Ok, that’s fair

He also had about 40% of his passing yards gifted to him by the Minny defensive breakdowns on the Croom TD and the short pass that Ivory turned into like a 50yd play

I just think ppl are going a bit overboard here

You realize he threw 4 passes in the entire second half, right?

Edit: Late.

It's not about going overboard. It's about the fact you said he wasn't ready to learn from mistakes, which is asinine. He's a rookie, of course he will make more mistakes, even the same ones multiple times, he will likely have a couple terrible games, but that doesn't mean he's not ready to learn from mistakes, or that he shouldn't be the starter. He had 2 bad passes yesterday, out of 25. I don't know how that's anything other than an unqualified success in the NFL.

Stop. Not even close.

He threw 4 times in the second half because we were killing them.

Tyrod would have 75 yards passing at half if we were lucky

He also should have completed to Foster for 40+ yards on a play a WR is expected to make.

Could have had a TD that Clay dropped

Should have been 8/8 with 2 TDs at one point if KB didn't have his thumbs up his butt

Also massively underthrew a deep pass that should’ve been picked off
And every QB has WRs drop the ball

I know it comes off like I’m hating on the guy, but I’m not

I simply see a guy who is making plays as an athlete, and still needs a lot of work becoming a “quarterback”

Which is TOTALLY OK
We all know he needed time to develop when he was drafted

I just see ppl acting like he’s Drew Brees and think it’s ridiculous

I think most here are reacting to your contention that he is not ready to be a starting QB

I highly doubt that MY OPINION is what is shaping THEIR JUDGEMENT on how Allen played yesterday

I really don't get your objective here. The kids made clear improvements each week. Enjoy the win and say something nice about him.

So Croom wasn’t wide open?

Ivory didn’t take a 5yd pass another 45ish yards untouched?

And the Minny defense did, or did not, commit penalties that extended drives that resulted in points?

I don’t think ONE HALF is anywhere close to enough of a sample size to erase what we’ve previously seen

You guys do realize that i DID NOT SAY that he looked bad yesterday...
right?

What exactly, have we seen? Thrown into a hopeless game in a tropical storm? Making his first start in the NFL? Owning one of, if not THE best defense in the NFL from last year?

Again, no one is saying he's an all-pro, you're positing that he's not ready, and that, frankly, is ludicrous.

That happens in almost every single game. You could say that about any team from any game ever.
Receivers drop balls and you say every quarterback deals with drops, a guy gets open and a play gets made and you say it was gifted by the defense.

Jesus Christ. Pay attention.

You said he should not play because he is not ready to play or even learn from his mistakes.

You are being criticized because he is, and will continue to, and your opinion couldn’t have been more wrong. And instead of owning it you’re trying to talk your way out of it

August 15th 2019 the Judge will let me leave, Newark isn’t that high on the list.

It’d be cool if you admitted you were just wrong. Kid played lights out, and lead the team.

You are massively simplifying my opinions

If u wanna view his progress through highlights...
that’s your prerogative

But leaping over a defensive player,
or diving for the pylon,
DO NOT
in any way
show development in becoming a smart QB

1) I did say he looked better
2) Also said he got help from great playcalling,
3) and Minny’s defense sh!tting the bed
4) And he’s still got a ways to go

If anyone wants to try & disagree with those statements, that’s fine
But they’re ALL 100% accurate

Drew Brees played “lights out”
So did Matt Ryan

Take off the “homer” glasses
