There's no way they'll allow that thing in the aisles during play.

Most people can barely tolerate when someone stands up to get up to the the bathroom at games. If that walking carpet blocks someone's view during the game, he'll end up getting shivved.

Yeah, AMac’s turnover didn’t help much either, but he’s gotta be a little rusty.

Elliot has me worried already, he just doesn’t look sharp, I know he hasn’t played much, but he’s our guy and we need consistency

Are you (frank)ing serious? Did you miss the part where I said, in the very first sentence, that I had my fingers crossed. I feel, IN MY OPINION, that there are better option in the system than both Lehtera and Weiss. Obviously, neither you nor I have any say in what the line up will be on opening night. I really expect Jori to be 4th line center to start the season. I hope to see very little of Weiss. I think there are guys that have shown more ability and effort than Weiss and Lehtera is just soooooooo slow.
Just my hopes and thoughts. The team is in position to be able to sit those two and move forward from this point on.

LOl. Fingers crossed, legs crossed, whatever. My question was a fair question in response to your statement. My hopes and thoughts are to put the best team forward. I would like young players to supplant older players who aren't in the team future but I also understand that a coach needs to have some qualities in the lineup. I don't believe that any fan is in a position to know who is a better option than the coaches are. Lehtera is certainly a sub par skater but his skating deficiency is overblown. The team is looking at a 2nd year player at #2 center. Possibly a rookie at 3rd line center and the options for the other center spot is Laughton, Weal, and Lehtera. Weal possibly for the 3rd line center spot.
So when we look at situational play and taking key faceoffs in the d zone who takes on that role? I posted in previous days about how Giroux's number of D zone draws has decreased from a high of 612 in 14/15 to 340 last season. Knowing that is wrong for a coach to want a veteran option to rely on if necessary? Is Corbin Knight a better option in that role than Lehtera? If you think so, tell me how you know that? My personal opinion is that the bottom two lines center spots is a question mark going into the season.

There is zero reason to play those guys. I don’t buy that they won’t hurt you more than say a guy like NAK or Weal.

- flyer_nutter

That's incorrect in my opinion.

Elliot not looking good. I don’t care how much other areas of their game have improved, if they can’t at least get solid goaltending, it’s going to be a long season.

At this point, I don’t give a (frank) that he’s only 20, is coming straight out of Junior, etc... Hart has been, by far, the Flyers best goalie this preseason. Getting harder and harder to find a reason to not have him start the season with the Flyers and also be the guy in goal on opening night.

I don’t want to rush the kid, so I do for th most part agree with him starting in the AHL. They have to develop him the right way.

It is mighty tough to watch Elliot this pre season and to the end of last year. Tough call for sure.

I don’t want to rush the kid either, but if he keeps playing well against NHL competition, are you rushing him?

Suppose not. There are goalies who come into the league young. It does happen.

I don't think it is the end of the world to bring him up as the "backup". My wording would be that with the injuries, he is being given a spot until Neuvy and Lyon heal up with the unspoken condition that if he significantly outperforms Elliot, he sticks with the team and they make room in the AHL for the others. If Hart struggles,, he goes down after that period of time and it isn't a "demotion" persay.
