Could have been. Sergachev and Ehlers.

I think this is a make or break year for Jim .I think fans would /will be okay with a losing year if they seen progress, but won't accept a year of failure.

Unfortunately I think Bennings leash extends beyond this year, no matter how poorly they do. If Benning is doing what FA is telling him to, which has been reported X amount of times, and all of these cryptic-optimistic tweets by FA about the young kids coming up, I think Benning may be able to play out his entire contract. Boeser softened the pain of failing last year, Pettersson will do the same this year, and Hughes will do the same next year. Management will again preach patience, and fans will be left with a very slow, but slightly improving product year by year

I think Jim and his crew have done a decent job in the last two years but his first two

I really hope Boeser doesn’t have the sophomore struggle, but he seems to be struggling so far this preseason

his first two drafts were less than stellar. his free agent signings have all been bad imo. FA continuously retweeting and liking all articles of the top prospect pools in the NHL, the Pettersson for calder articles, etc. I think all signs point to FA liking what he sees, despite the results.

Even IMac is having a tough time being positive

lol he should take a trip through the Nucks thread here where the majority of posters are evaluating the entire reg season based off 5-6 preseason games.

Agree need to see how a bunch of his 'core' picks shape out before yet another firing.

Fans in here have been evaluating the entire season before one preseason game was played

I have noticed that Jim does not do the public interviews now. Weisbrod Brackett and Johnson are handling that duty. That can't be a good thing when the owner doesn't want you to go near a mic.

Don't get me wrong I couldn't care less if they kept Jim or let him go tomorrow. I do think his job does depend on this year. If everything goes wrong I see him fired. If it makes progress they keep using him and hiding him behind the curtain.

I think there is a bit of a disconnect between people predicting how the entire season will go, and people saying "season will have lots of ups and downs, but some major downs". I think its less of a "evaluation" (you can't evaluate something that hasn't happened yet anyway lol) and people more-so keeping expectations low and realistic.

It's better this way. He can't get fined if he doesn't step in front of a mic and camera.

Did you take the back off of your computer? What if you have a laptop? Hot do you get 'in' to it?

I've been listening to sports shows on my computer, online.

So do you sit right on top of your computer, and will any line do? Like, is a grout line ok, or a chalk line drawn by a five year old?

Don't think he's really trying yet. Like the other guys who's spots are secure, and the guys who's spots aren't secure for that matter...

He still does regular radio spots, he's not banned from media interaction.

Not really, but I’ve not been unimpressed. And that’s consistent — I think that’s what he’ll bring. A better, more consistent Gaunce that can actually pot a few goals.

I think you are going to be disapointed by the number of goals scored by the shutdown/PK guys.

no GM is banned, but like Vantel is saying, I think he is voluntarily opting to do as little media interviews as possible.

Maybe it's just Trevor never let the other kids play, but I'm sure he has certain obligations for meeting with the media. His public speaking has improved immensely since he took this job, it's too bad there is no minor league where he could have developed properly.

I don't actually think Benning is half as bad as what people here think (re-use of words and phrases, etc). We all know his famous "good release on his shot" quotes and what not, but I actually don't think he is that bad during interviews.

@sportsnetmurph on the Canucks roster.

- Saturday you will see a better lineup. Cuts will come after the game tonight I am guessing, we probably won't see Olli Juolevi again until later in the year and there are still decisions to be made up front. The back end looks pretty set
