Lol it’s pretty amusing. I like when the freak out starts before game one 😍😍
- CanuckDon

Not really, Don.

Sounds like most know the team sucks and are mainly disappointed in the effort from the bubble players.

How is that freaking out?

Negative comments doesn’t mean freaking out

Sautner and Boucher cleared waivers.

Long list of Waivers today, including Michael McCarron and Hunter Shinkaruk from MTL. Zach Smith in OTT. Will post full list shortly.

I could see Smith getting claimed

Donny hasn't had his morning latte yet. I would say 95% of the people here understand where the team is, and that a bottom 5/10 finish is the consensus. I think the other 5% hold out hope of better. As far as freaking out, I think the board has been pretty calm actually. The team sucks

It’s just realistic. There could have been more standouts. EP has delivered, OJ looks promising but not much positives beyond that

Yeah, I’m not really sure what type of reaction people are expecting from this fanbase. I think most of the serious comments have been pretty tame.

The team is chalked full of Benning's collection of other teams scraps, bottom six UFA's and draft picks.

We are where we are because they, Aquilini/Linden/Benning, didn't have enough foresight in 2014 to start building the team through the draft by acquiring skill. Now there's very limited skill that's NHL ready but a plethora of poop players.

2014, 2015 & 2016 drafts have produced one highly skilled NHL player, Boeser, despite having a 6th and 5th overall pick. Given the opportunity to look back, they missed a lot of good available kids those three years.

Thankfully they got Boeser though.

Just saw an article saying Tkachuk has more assists than anyone else in his draft class, inluding Mathews and Laine. And he has played the majority of his minutes with Frolik.........kid is a gamer.

Most people could see this isn't a very good team in the summer, way before camp, Don's just being his usual know-it-all, dramatic, 'support the product' at all costs arrogant self.

Just look at their preseason scoring, Horvat, Baertschi and Pettersson have produced but virtually no one else. As I said earlier, the team is FULL of bubble players outside of those three.

Five on five this team is gonna get hammered badly!! Just gotta keep the eye on the prize which is a very good draft position for next June, that'll be the saving grace for this year.

Some posters here love making fun of freakouts so much that they’re now badly reaching.

Unfortunately for them, a negative comment that they don’t agree with doesn’t mean it’s a freakout.

If anything, the guys who scream “omg lol freak out” are the ones overreacting.

Legit.

All the Canucks bubble players in tonight, with no chance to look good. Media guessing Nilly gets the start. Bubble player who manage to escape without giving up goals get the spot?

This is the last chance for some of them this pre-season since the last pre-season games are typically a warm up game for the entire opening night roster.

I expect a better effort tonight, even if they’re outmatched in talent. I don’t think that’s too much to ask for.

(I apologize in advance for this freakout post)

his first two drafts were less than stellar. his free agent signings have all been bad imo. FA continuously retweeting and liking all articles of the top prospect pools in the NHL, the Pettersson for calder articles, etc. I think all signs point to FA liking what he sees, despite the results.
- Codes1087

FA dad is not in great shape and he wants him to enjoy watching his team. Can't blame hom for trying to do things fast so his dad doesn't die watching a horrible team, unfortunately because of this his dad might die watching a horrible team.

So do you sit right on top of your computer, and will any line do? Like, is a grout line ok, or a chalk line drawn by a five year old?
- 1970vintage

Chalk line drawn by a 4 year old works for me. Get more relevant hockey information then listening to 1040.
