Mcdavid alone cant make EDM a playoff team. There are lots of great players on bad teams. There are just teams that are that bad, and i think van is one of them.

I'm not sure how much separates the Canucks from the other bad teams. I think it will certainly be a battle down the stretch for the best draft lottery odds.

On the other hand, if Elias, Brock & Bo stay healthy and play well, I'm going to enjoy watching this season more than the last couple. Once the injury-bug bites and/or TDL passes, I'm looking forward to the call-ups (Dahlen, Gaudette, Olli, Demko) getting a little more opportunity (and hopefully they've developed a little more by then).

Oh, and of course, drafting Hughes first overall next spring

I think that's the bottom line, when injuries happen, the wheels will completely fall off, the kids will struggle under the increased pressure from the fan base/media and trolls will come in to inform of us all the busts on the squad.

Difference. Vans defence and goaltending are probably keeping them from being a top 16 NHL team.

Quinn Hughes next season. Certainly can improve the defence and if Demko has a good season. Add in a possible ready top 5 pick and might be talking presidents trophy
