After every signing Nylander's position gets weaker. I just dont understand what they are thinking on his end. Its pretty obvious his pay range should be 6-6.75. Should be an easy contract with all the comparables.

It could be term. Im guessing dubas was a lower average over shorter term until marleau is off the books

Does anyone know what his production was like without matthews? Better, worse, or on par?
- Dozzer

From what I recall of watching the games is was much worse, but id like to see the numbers.

All the talking heads are saying that what is taking so long is they both want long term. I hope this gets done for a reasonable salary soon. Kinda stupid that this has gone on for this long.

Leafs offering 8 years at 6.5M
Nylander asking for 8 years at 8.5M

Would be my guess.

can't imagine he actually thinks he's worth 8.5. not only is draisaitl himself overpaid but nylander isn't coming off a season anywhere near as good as draisaitl's.

77 points vs 61

16 points in 13 playoff games vs 4 in 7

he's not even worth 7 mil at this point imo

It's a shame I'll have to burn my AM34 jersey just 1 week after getting it. Practically invisible last night.

I agree. Apparently his father was a handful to deal with, you gotta think that this is part of the problem.

What side does everyone fall on from Bobby Macs dilemma last night.

Do you run with 35yr old McBackup and let 25yr old Sparks go through waivers because he's been poop in the preseason?

Or

Do you keep Sparks up because the mystery box could be anything. Even a boat.

Isn't Pickard better than these two?

I go with McBackuo any day of the week. If Andersen goes down the leafs will need a veteran guy to jump into the crease that they know is at least dependable.

Right now is not time time to experiment with net stability. Especially if the cost is only some 25 year old who hasn't proven he even belongs in the league yet.

The leafs aren't rebuilding anymore. They're rebuilt.

Pretty sure it’s been reported that Dubas wants long term.

I think he might be angling for 8years, and Nylander wants it shorter so he can get a raise.

I think so, but it seems like Pickard is not really being thought about. Media is focused on the Sparks v. McElhinney battle.
