Mcbackup doesnt suck. Youve even said he had a career year last year and he was decent the year before.
Babs likes to play his starters alot. Doesnt matter. - Fakepartofme
His career numbers aren't that impressive. How many journeyman back-ups have two careers in a row? Good luck finding one. Babcock is making a stupid decision if he decides to run Andersen into the ground for a third season in a row.
What dont you get?
No matter who the back up is, babs will still play andersen alot. - Fakepartofme
What don't you get? Running the starting goalie into the ground is a stupid when the team in front of him gives up 30+ shots a game.
If he does, he's an idiot. |

You are wrong, they have to offer him back to the team they took him from. |

It's a kick in the balls when a teammate isn't good enough? What a weird comment |

I read a quote from Bill Daly, that said: "If it's the Habs, the rule doesn't apply. The league feels bad enough that Max Domi is their #1 C." |

Soon it will be Kotkaniemi.
But giving a special rules for waivers to Bergevin? That's a dangerous game. |

Doubt it.. I'm positive that Bergevin will find a way to trade those special rules for less than what they are actually worth. |

Just the year or until the team doesn't want him back and he clears waivers. |

Pretty much every team in the league gives up 30+ shots a game. (If you want to get technical, 26/31 did and the remaining five were between 28.9 and 29.9/gp.) |

I think the narrative was that Andersen was tired in the first 2 Boston games, had nothing to do with the 13-2 power plays. |

All the talk about Sparks and McElhinney fighting for the job while Pickard seems to be the forgotten man. Pickard to me is a younger version of McElhinney. Good enough to carry the load for stretches, but not a threat to Andersen. Sparks seems too emotional for a top tier goalie to me and McElhinney is a great backup, but I question if he can carry the load if something happens to Freddy. Wouldn't be surprised if Picks is the guy they go with. He's been solid in pre-season and has proven he can handle the work load when he was in Colorado. |

Leafs gave up the 4th most shots in the NHL last year at 33.9 SA/GP and #1-3 didn't make the playoffs. They gave up 35 a game in the playoffs, 3rd most.
So if you want to get technical, the Leafs give up too many (frank)ing shots. Andersen was #1 in shots faced. So clearly, it's the Leafs. |

Pickard seems like the best of the three in-house options. He's younger than McElhinney but has more NHL experience / success than Sparks. They could also go out and get one too. |

Doesn't matter who gets sent down, nobody is taking any of them to carry for the rest ofthe year. |
