Just got off the phone with a credible source. Nylander to sign an 8 year, 6.9M AAV contract. The only thing holding this up is reality.

Not in the playoffs they didn't.
- Unholy_Goalie

And you don't think that had something to do with the 3-1 power play advantage that Boston was somehow gifted.

Was talking about Washington but...

...gifted? As if Boston didn't totally outplay them 5 on 5? As if the referees and the entire league just wants the Leafs to lose? Please...

You were actually talking about the difference between TO and Washington in the playoffs, But obviously the powerplay differences had no bearing on that.

What I was replying to was Washington's shot differential which was way better in the playoffs than it was in the regular season. They obviously made an adjustment for the playoffs and it worked.

I love how you, among others, use that as some way to invalidate the points. You post at 3 in the afternoon therefore you're wrong.
- Unholy_Goalie

I think the 3am stuff isn't about invalidating your points, it's about an obsession with having the last word, which is why being up at 3am arguing the same point over and over, talking in circles, without trying to look at the opposing view's perspective is a negative. At that point it's not a discussion with valid points going back and forth, it's just about "winning" which is a pretty ignorant way of approaching a conversation. We all do it from time to time but if multiple people are telling you that it's an issue for you, maybe it's something you should look at...

If nylander signs a 6 million aav, he stands to lose $32,000 a day from oct 3rd on.

So he basically has a week before he starts forfeiting money on his next contract.

Time of post has nothing to do with anything.

Last word? Viewing the opposing perspective as a negative? Winning? You're describing everyone else here pretty accurately.

They should just flip coins, best of 7, for four rounds to determine the winner then.

Your response 100% proves my point. Self reflection and being able to hear other points of view is a big part of growing as a person, I think it's something that will help you.

I think his main point is that you come across as very unwavering in your opinions and dismissive of others. Tends to rub people the wrong way.

Do I have to really explain in such detail for you to understand what I said?

Or is that response just to try and stir up poop?

A good team is a good team. But any player/GM/coach will tell you in order to win the cup you have to be not only a good team but get hot(a lot of luck)

Forward group is fairly obvious....

But as for the D I’d say by the play of the players and based on what Babs has said...

Rielly-Hainsey
Gardiner-Zaitsev
Dermott-Ozhiganov
Rosen

Not too excited by Hainsey on the top pairing....but I could see that being short lived by the TDL.

Ozhiganov might play his way up...he’s looked good even with not knowing a lick of English and adjusting to the new ice
