Zucc could be ideal. 2nd and 3rd??
Hey we could always get those picks back and more by trading Backes
Oh wait (frank), Chia got canned |

Both of those picks would have to turn into 1st rounders for the trade to be worth it. Which ironically then wouldn’t make it worth it. Nice work by the Gorton’s fisherman here.
Pass. |

I actually like the Dzingel deal better ... Although you’d HAVE to re-sign him to make it worth the 2 2nd rounders. |

I'd give up a (late) 1st to be placed in the ECF. Great shot at the prize. No resign.
Gorton gonna need some serious luck to not have been fleeced. |

...well he'd be big upgrade on 3rd line lw but is that a target? Can he play Rwanda? |

Stay away from Simmonds.
Stone or Hayes only if they can be resigned.
Vanek/Nyqvist/Hoffman might be cheaper options that can add some scoring pop to the top nine.

Say Dallas loses in round 1 ... Not worth it. Gave up a 2nd and a 3rd.
Say Dallas wins round 1 and loses in round 2 ... Not worth it. Gave up a 1st and a 3rd.
Say Dallas wins a round and resigns him. Gave up 2 1st rounders. Not worth it.
You literally need to win the CUP then walk away from Zuccarello to make this trade at all palatable. That would be a 1st and a 3rd, which is still steep for a rental. Then Gorton re-signs him this summer.
Brilliant structuring here by the Fisherman.

Agreed on Simmonds. Big ‘he’ll no’ on that idea.
Stone is obviously the prize, but it would need to be a sign and trade or a trade then immediately re-sign. Anything less than that is unacceptable.
Hayes would be ok as well, although if I’m Sweeney I’m locked and loaded on Stone. |

Interesting take if NYR want him back but I thought they had to WIN 2 rounds
to give up a 1st |

Same poop
Point was that Gort Dogg structured this thing to not make it worth Dallas re-signing him. Meaning I believe he’s going to go back to the blueshirts this summer and the Rags get a couple good picks for the service.
Steep price for Dallas that gets steeper the father they go ... Then if they do resign him, it’s off the charts. Potentially 2 1st’s for Mats friggin Zuccarello. And at very least a 2nd and a 3rd with the opportunity to bring him back over the summer. If I’m a Rangers fan, I love this deal. |

I see your point there yes. From B's standpoint I think he'd be an ideal add the only way we'd lose a 1st is if we got TB out of the way and have probably the best chance at a Cup of the remaining teams. |

And Stone would be THE ideal for this year.
But I really think whoever gives him 9.5 or whatever for 7 years will be crying in 2-3 years tops |

Rumor is that the asking price for Stone is so steep that the market for him is thinning.
Teams are focusing elsewhere.
With patience, he may be able to be had last minute for a very good value. With that comes the obvious risk of missing out entirely though.
Tough call ...
No way we pay him $9.5 per though. Not gonna happen. Somewhere in the $7’s is acceptable and we need to find a way to ditch Backes. Rumor is that he’s still loved in St Louis, maybe some kind of deal to get him back there over the summer. Not gonna be cheap ... |

Hell I'd pay him 8+, for three years. He'll get term and big dough tho I guess.
We already have a better, younger rw tied in for a while who will be worth his contract and then some throughout. Ufa's are tough. |

Stempniak on waivers today. Means Boston signed him.
Not cuing in the duck boats, but I like it. Capable veteran depth at the cost of zero assets. |
