Not surprised. Just disappointed. I thought a week ago that Nylander and Thompson may be fighting for a single spot. GMs and coaches hate risk.
What's the most boring decision we could make?
Larsson, Girgensons and Tennyson
FFS - jcragcrumple
Could be wrong but they can’t send 22 down until he’s healthy Tennyson is here as an extra d in case of injury and I think 28 does fine in a fourth line role.
I don’t want Guhle up here to play once and a while he’s better off playing top pair ministers in Rochester, I am disappointed they sent Nylander down instead of Thompson, thought Alex had a much better preseason. At least they kept Thompson and didn’t send them both down. |

I get the decisions - well, I understand why the decisions were made - but it shatters all illusions of a meritocracy. Nylander should be on the team, plain and simple.
So glad I get to watch the 2 slugs for another year |

They never sent him down. I think Larsson is hurt and they claimed a forward. - Lunaion
What’s the status on Sheary?
Will he be ready Thurs? |

Nylander need to work on his back checking and being consistent, once he does he'll be here. hopefully by mid season which is saying something because he's been so bad until this spring. I think they just want to see if he will keep playing like this in Rochester first (hard to argue with). and now he has Aspland to learn from as well as set him up for goals... he is setup to succeed there. |

he's 22 played 3 years in the AHL... was a minus 15 last year, not a goal scorer. 12 points in 63 games
ranked 20th out of the top 25 for the preds... eh players swap of under performing kids looks like |

He’s one of the defensemen i said we should’ve drafted instead of Karabacek & Cornel back in 2014 round2
Pretty decent skater & passer
Botts building more defensive depth
I liked Baptiste,
but it’s a good move bringing him in

I know nothing about him, but someone could have taken Baptiste for free. So we got something back, ok. What else could it have been, nothing or like a 7th round pick. Whatever. Maybe a change in scenery helps both players. |

Yep, just adds to the evidence, other than Murray coming right out and saying it, that there's a wink and a nod agreement between teams about young players and waivers. |

Just like offer sheets. Sabres have #1 waiver wire position as well so they could have easily have claimed a player on the team that claimed Baptiste. # of contracts might also play a role hence the 1 for 1. |

Maybe, but I think it's more a matter of Baptiste having significantly more value after clearing waivers than before.

Yeah, I’m sure
I was a big fan of his in his draft year
Could’ve gone late 1st round
Was p!ssed we passed on him for 2 forwards who we reached for
Watched him play a couple
college games
Haven’t seen him since though
So idk how he’s developed the past couple years |

Not necessarily, if the press claim him they have to put him on waivers again and risk him being claimed by someone else. |

Doubtful
I don’t really see where he fits in
And he’s a 3mil Cap hit for this season & next
He’d be a great grab for Ottawa though,
since they’re gonna have to trade Duchene & Stone
Montreal could take a shot at him since they’re so desperate at Center |

Never got a fair shake imo. He'll kick around the NHL for a while |
