The Sabres will undoubtedly scan what figures to be a crowded waiver wire, as they would get first crack to claim any player dropped for their current team by virtue of last season's 31st-place finish.

I get the decisions - well, I understand why the decisions were made - but it shatters all illusions of a meritocracy. Nylander should be on the team, plain and simple.

Also as far as Nylander, as good as he looked this preseason, that’s really the first time he’s made an impact in any way with the Sabres, I do t like the move but it does make sense. Also I do t see 22 on this team at ya point unless we are completely decimated by injuries.

They are at 23, but that's counting Tennyson (who cleared waivers) and Bogo/Larsson (both injured and not practicing).

Maybe the injuries aren't bad and that's the team, but a waiver pickup is very possible.

Has the potential for a high ceiling but more than likely isn't anything more than a fringe #4 dman in a pinch but a bottom pairing.

I was never involved in that debate. But one playing for the best team, while the other plays for the worst has something to do with it

What was our starting 4th line last year? Wasn't Nolan on in? It's nice that we are getting starting to get some depth on our team.
