Dahlin, Risto, Scandella, McCabe, Bogo, Beau, Hunwick, Nelson Guhle, Pilut, Hickey, Tennyson, Fedun, Dougherty, Stephens, Samuelsson, Borgen...quite a few guys that are ready or will be in the next couple seasons.

Thoughts?

Can never have enough d-man. Not like teams are lining up to trade top 4 d-men either (apart from Karlsson who had Ottawa binded). It’s a good luxury to have imo.

Scandella, bogo, bowl u, hunwick, tennyson, fedun are done after this season.

It takes 3-4 years to develop the young guys sometimes.

Makes sense. Just wondering from a development perspective, how do guys like Guhle, Dougherty, Stephens, Borgen and Pilut get time. Stephens doesn't matter much, but the other four seem to. I wonder if guys like Fedun, Hunwick and Tennyson will cut into a lot of minutes.

Don't see Bogo going given his contract. I think Scandella resigns for 2 years. Just a guess. I think Tennyson and/or Fedun should go now to make space and minutes for younger players on the farm. Agree?

They get time when they're ready. Botterill has done a nice job of collecting potential NHL dmen on the extreme cheap. If he can get 2 or 3 future guys out of that pile, it's a big success. Considering the amount we paid for Hickey, Pilut, Dougherty and Nelson was Fasching and Baptiste.

The defense as a whole suck ass. Botterill wouldn't be doing his job if he wasn't mining for raw gems for the future. No one's giving away or letting high end guys slip to FA. Although I have no idea wtf the Islanders were doing letting De Haan go. Whoop, hold on.. they signed Sbisa. Nevermind, he's elite.

Don't get me wrong, I love the depth and think it is good we have gotten rid of a few forwards down on the farm. Still, I just wonder how these players will develop seeing as they can't possibly be giving all of them quality minutes.

There will be losers. I don't want Borgen or Pilut to lose time to Fedun or Tennyson.

When Borgen and Pilut are ready to play top 6 minutes in the NHL, you can bet your ass Fedun and Tennyson will not get in their way.

We may not be able to trade Bogo, but we sure as fk aren't paying him to "play" on this team after his contract expires.
