IMO Bergevin figures there's a 6-year window with #Habs older core of Price, Patch, Petry, Weber. He'd like to add Alzner to that group

Alzner the third-best free agent on TSN's list. Jeez..maybe he's not a crappy as some are letting on.

$75M cap - so ave. salary is $3.75M. Alzner is a top 4 defenceman that uses 1/17 of the cap space - his contract is not out of line at all.

Whether you agree with it or not..Bergevin puts a high emphasis on character as was shown by getting Alzner and Weber...high-end character

Alzner is getting worse and worse. Didn't figure he'd be washed up at 29, but maybe last season wasn't an aberration after all.

It's funny that the guys who didn't scout Alzner actually knew more about him that the guys who have apparently scouted him.

I think in general (only thing i agree with Tanner on) there's far better people that should be an NHL GM that have absolutely no experience or playing or coaching hockey.

oh I agree on that. Its easy for me to see that, since I am a Leafs fan and watched for years as nerds on the internet told me they were making dumb moves..only to turn out to be true.

The tipping point for me was around Clarkson signing..I was optimistic about it..then read several articles saying how bad it was...

Having Tavares net front is pretty big. If any rebounds drop in the slot there is a good chance it'll find its way in.
