I'd make a pitch for Nylander if I were Bergy. - Fredo
With the return they would get as compensation, that would only help the Leafs at this point |

Would be a great addition at C for us. As long as he's not soft in the playoffs? That could be a concern? But what do we have to give? We're just starting a somewhat proper rebui....tool. |

But then they gotta pay him the 8 million he believes he's worth... And who do you trade for him? |

Oh I can guarantee we haven't seen the last of Domi being Domi... Like I said yesterday, with him, Gallagher and Shaw, Habs could be a real annoying team to play. You can throw Deslauriers in there too if he still has a spot when he returns - obie
I really liked Juulsen yesterday, physical, he even joined the rush a couple of times. |

Reilly was great and played 21 minutes! He's going to better than we thought. |

I'd go the offer sheet route. We don't have the pieces to throw away along with the draft picks... So sheet him and just pay with picks |

No doubt, I'm a huge Juulsen fan... Never had a problem throwing his weight around in juniors, him and Mete could be a very solid 2nd pairing for years |

$5,478,986-to-$7,305,316 First, second and third-round picks - Aim for 7.25 over 5 years. We lose a draft year, but we have some 2nds and 3rds built up I think. We either take him, or force the Leafs to pay more than they want. Win win |

You make that deal now and you're handing the Leafs a lottery pick |

Not really win win, because if they choose not to sign him, you take care of their problem, giving them a lottery pick and helping them stay competitive long term. |

This is what I meant with the I don’t mind if they lose if it’s entertaining debate this summer.
We knew with Galchenyuk and Patches gone we don’t have any genuine snipper to score and some nights we’ll heavily outshoot the competition but still lose 2-1 |

Nylander is not really a C and he's soft like a pillow... With Weber out, Nylander missing camp and Kotkaniemi still very young, I believe this pick would still be a lottery pick!! |

Agreed, which is why I disagree with the whole "automatic lottery pick" mindset we all have. We going all the way and winning the Cup. Pfft, no. But if we play 60% of the games like we did last night, we squeak into the playoffs, at the least, in classic Habs fashion. Not good enough to go all the way, not good enough for a decent draft pick. And let's face it, we can blame Timmins all we want, but those poopty draft picks are all we've been giving him for years. |
