Brind'Amour really ripped into him after the trade, which was odd to me. Skinner handled that very professionally

Yeah Erik Cole took a big poop on him before the trade too. Cole is a team ambassador.

Cole did. Brind'amour was the assistant coach for almost all of Skinner's time here.
One thing Brind'amour has really emphasized is pushing for the team to be great instead of just going in to the year with the goal of making the playoffs. Be better in game 10 than you were in game 1, be better in game 20 than you were in game 10, etc.
Talk from the owner on down is that the Canes don't have as much fan support or media attention because they don't deserve it. They have to change that and earn the fans and the attention back.

Excited for tonight but the buzzkill is that I get NESN on cable so my Sabres feed will most likely be blacked out on NHL TV and I will be forced to listen to Jack Edwards  |
