I have been told we need guys like this on the team. Guys that don’t even have to get injured to have the pleasure of missing 1/4 of the season.

Ive never laughed harder when we were debating that. The amount of people that wanted Wilson at that cap hit, suspension or not, really need to get their heads examined.

He simply won't survive in this league with no Tom Wilson around.

He is finished now.

I believe he's not ready to be finished. He's not even ready to learn how to be finished.

Today's lines:

Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Sheary-Berglund-Thompson
Sobotka-Mittelstadt-Okposo
Girgensons (Elie)-Rodrigues-Pominville

Scandella-Ristolainen
McCabe-Dahlin
Beaulieu-Nelson
Tennyson

I’m wondering which line get the defensive assignments?
I think we’ve all been assuming that Berglund would get those duties,
but neither Sheary or Thompson are ideal for that role at all

If at some point Berglund & Mitts switched wingers, then i could see a legit defensive line (that could hopefully produce some goals as well)

It’ll be interesting to see how Housley deploys these lines

Is it 3 scoring lines & line4 is the defensive unit?

I wonder who's going to get the "A" when Bogo misses half the season. That's the real question.

I think we're trying to score goals, rather than wait to be scored on by assembling the "corsi nightmare line" of Girgs, Larsson and (RIP) Wilson or Sobotka

We're in new and unfamiliar terrain, where this team actually seems to embrace the idea that the forwards should try to score goals.

It's a good question. None of those lines are built for tough defensive minutes. It's Phil though, those lines might not last a full period.

I get that... and agree
I’ve always been a proponent of having a 3 scoring line setup,
as opposed to putting our top6 forwards on the top 2 lines

However,
we do still need a line we can depend on in the defensive zone
At the very least, just to win a faceoff most of the time & get the puck out

Late in the game or the period, lines are always shuffled. You put out your two best faceoff guys in case one gets tossed. You'll probably see Eichel, Berglund and Sobotka or something.

Otherwise, just roll 4 lines

I think with having Sobotka on the Mitts line they are just going to roll 4 lines and hope for the best. I think Sheary plays a better 200 foot game then people think. He played a lot of bottom 6 minutes with the Pens over the years. I think they roll 4 lines and each line has there fair share of dzone starts.
