I’m going to be very disappointed if the first unit PP doesn’t feature Giroux, Voracek, Gostisbehere, Simmonds in his regular spot and JvR in the Hartnell/Schenn spot. - SuperSchennBros
Practice reports said that Coots was in that spot and JVR on the 2nd unit, so prepare for disappointment. I'm cool with it, it will be nice to have a 2nd unit that is also a threat.

With all the poopty movies made these days, Idk how a new one hasn’t been made over the years. Not like Myers has been in much either. |

Though Id prefer JVR on the top PP I do like that they finally have 2 strong units regardless of who is where. Should ease the pressure and reliance on the 1st unit. |

Agreed, plus I think guys will get moved around a bit, depending on game situation. For example, they get a pp in a game where they have a lead and Coots has seen a lot of PK time, perhaps they move JVR to the top unit, put Lindblom into JVR's spot on the 2nd unit and replace Vorobyev with a 2nd Dman. It really is something that not only do they have enough talent to fill 2 complete units, but with Lindblom and Sanheim, they actually have additional talent waiting in the wings. |

It's really hard to predict at this point. I think, if Elliott stays healthy and Pickard plays well, they will be the tandem for the remainder of the season. Once Lyon gets healthy, I think either he or Stolarz gets moved and the other backs up Hart at LHV.
When it comes to Neuvirth, as long as Pickard is playing well and Elliott is doing the same and is healthy, I think he gets waived, and, if he clears waivers, he may end up riding the pine in LHV as a 3rd goalie until after the deadline when the rosters can be expanded and he gets brought up to be the Flyers 3rd goalie. It would suck for him, but with his injury history, I wouldn't blame the Flyers one bit. - BiggE
I really have liked Lyon and want him to be given the chance to show what he can do. Pickard is a better safety net than Stolarz (returning from year out) or Neuvirth (unreliable due to frequent injury). I think both Lyon and Pickard are more likely to be claimed off waivers. If Elliott’s health is questionable at all, it would be better to carry the 3, Elliott, Lyon and Pickard.

Anyone happen to see Jack Edwards' Twitter profile picture? Him and his little dog with the Stanley Cup. Yellow teeth shining through. His yellow teeth. Dog seemed to have nice teeth. |

As much as I want the season to get moving I think that we are going to come out flat and Vegas is going to come out flying on their opening night. I hope I'm wrong, but we've just seen the trend too many times.
And yes, I fully expect a Gritty sighting. |

I do think that will be the first change to the PP as long as guys are healthy. I am surprised Coots is there over JVR. - YuenglingJagr
I'm not. They want Simmonds and JVR at the net. |

Possibly, but the Rags are the only team with a waiver exempt backup goalie (and he's pretty good). Every other team would have to waive their backup or carry three goalies if they claimed Lyon or Stolarz. |

So I did this last year, it was fun. I'll update my totals and projections around the 20 40 and 60 game mark. This is also meant as a project of each player, independent of team totals. It's partly what I think is possible and what I think is going to happen. So there is a bit of optimism in the numbers as well.
Here are my totals for the top 11. My assumption is that these 11 will play the majority of the season barring injury.
Giroux-26g-56a-82p-54ES
Voracek-18g-57a-75p-50ES
Couts-22g-43a-65p-55ES
Konecny-24g-38a-62p-53ES
JvR-26g-20a-46p-38ES
Simmonds-26g-20a-46p-29ES
Patrick-21g-23a-44p-34ES
Lindblom-15g-15a-30p-26ES
Vorobyev-10g-18a-28p-24ES
Laughton-12g-12a-24p-22ES

Yeah -- None of those point totals are contingent on each other (as in expecting the team to score X amount of goals). I didn't really take that into account. It was more what is a reasonable and optimistic take on a player's points total.
For example I don't know if Couts gets 65 again. I think his totals will actually be around 58-62, but 65 is a reasonable and optimistic take.
