I know, it is just a nice measuring stick to look at. I dont think JVR gets to 26 without top PP time, but maybe you've considered that - YuenglingJagr
He is difficult to predict. Coming off consecutive 20+ ES goal seasons. I also think PP2 is going to much better. When I was looking thru this, the Flyers had about 55 PP goals last season, about 47 of them were scored by members of the top PP.
I think they'll be around 52-58 PP goals this season, but I think the coaching staff plans to play the 2nd pp a bit more than last season. I think the split will be more like 40-12. Which translates to about 4 PP goals for JvR and the rest with ES, which he can do.
Yeah he is. Someone must have pissed in his cheerios or some such... We all know he won't be awake for the game tonight! - FlyersGrace
Hah!!!
You know I'm a night owl! Gods know I barely get home from work by 10pm, then dinner and a shower and a few hours of beerlaxation with the dog pack on the couch before my 3am bedtime.
To be positive, it's almost impossible for the PK to get worse. - Feanor
Statistically, allowing one fewer PPGA per every 25 penalties would get the Flyers to 80 percent this season: basically near the middle of the pack. With better execution -- clear the zone when there's a chance to clear, goalie stops what he has a chance to stop -- it's not really all THAT big of a jump to get there. They were slightly over 80% through the first 19 games of last season and also over the final 15.

Just hoping the Flyers don't come out like Boston from last night. A conference championship banner is nothing to sneeze at. Vegas will be rocking. - Pelle31Forever
I want them to do the playoff opening intro thing with Gritty as the nemesis to be conquered.

I think Ghost is going to have a monster year and with 2 good units, it wouldn’t shock me to se them flirt with 58-63 pp goals this year. I think the 2nd unit will get more ice team than in previous years and will put in 15-20

It's nothing terrific but it would be a start. - bmeltzer
If their pp is among the top 5 in the league, they get slightly better and more consistent goaltending and can get their PK into the 80-82% range, they could challenge for the division.

Keep the positive vibes flowing. I'm saving all the negative feels for 10:05 when Lehtera takes his first shift.
