Last year they had a dip in PPO. Still above average, but they were near the top the previous years. Hopefully that number jumps back up to the top of the league

Statistically, allowing one fewer PPGA per every 25 penalties would get the Flyers to 80 percent this season: basically near the middle of the pack. With better execution -- clear the zone when there's a chance to clear, goalie stops what he has a chance to stop -- it's not really all THAT big of a jump to get there. They were slightly over 80% through the first 19 games of last season and also over the final 15.

It's nothing terrific but it would be a start.

I think it will be a serious consideration with all the available/seasoned PP guys available to them to mix and match a bit during any prolonged slump with the first unit. They have more options than in years past. It would behoove them to jostle things during the season.

More guys should get a crack on that top unit and the first unit shouldn't over stay considering the Lehtera line will probably be out as soon as the PP expires with players from all three top lines getting time.
