Namestiknov is probably the least 4th line like player in the world

really if I could choose I would trade his ass out of here, put Vesey on the 4th line and bring up Andersson

- jimbro83

$4 mil per year this and next season, moving him won't be that easy without eating salary.

It was an odd man rush Jan, Pionk was the only one not caught out of position. If he steps on on Forsberg, he just dishes it to whoever his linemate is for an easy breakaway
- mdw7413

I didn't love Pionk's snow angel. But I gotta agree, Pionk was the only one back.

I will watch again, looked like Lettieri was in good enough position and Skjei was able to get the trailer. If I am mistaken, thanks for the feedback and correction.

Update: Letteri was a step behind Turris, so quite possible Forsberg does dish to him if Skjei steps up.

All good. Pionk doesn't go without fault. I'd rather him do almsot anything than snow angel in that spot.

He's in a tough spot. Lay down and take away the low shot/pass or just let Hank take the shooter. I really can't blame him for what he did.

Obviously not a fan of this franchise but the tribute to Amirante was very touching. You could tell how proud his family was of him. Nice job!

Duchene is so skilled, he's just so lazy. It's unreal.

this difference in McKinnon since Duchene left can't be just a 100% coincidence

Not thrilled with a home loss to start season, however we were competitive with one of the best teams in the league.
Very happy with team response to Subbans big hit in first period. Nobody dropped gloves, but 3 Rangers got in his face and limited his nonsense. This team clearly has a different personality and that is all on Quinn. Even if we are not getting wins, this team is very watchable and will be easy to root for...

When you break his name into two parts, the first part says it all

I honestly think that anderrson will benefit another year in the AHL. He is just not ready - his confidence is shot.

Overall, Rangers effort was right where it needs to be. Remember, this team had huge turnover so it will take some time to find chemistry. Hank was Hank - period, game should of been 3-0 in the first period.

Staal & I will leave it at that. Rest of the D-core looked promising. Howden was impressive and so was Chytil.

Overall.. I would give first game a C

I dont know how you can say that, the guy stole the puck from Taylor Hall in the first pre-season game and scored a gorgeous breakaway short handed goal

it's not a confidence thing, it's a numbers thing, there isn't any room to play on the top 6 just yet

I think a big part of this is they may only see him as a center. If this is the case, then he will stay in AHL until they make a decision on Hayes or another center is injured...

Then he disappeared & was demoted to AHL. He needs more time to develop

Actually it was the smarter thing to do rather than let him walk for nothing. Rangers aren't looking to compete, plenty of cap space, why not sign him, hope he can do something and then trade him. Really no risk. If they were a legit threat and had no space I would agree

Mcloud is definitely a better 4th liner than Nam, like I said the other day, Nam may be the most ill-suited player for the 4th line I have ever seen.
