Sorry i dont understand your first sentence above. If he had touched the puck, no penalty would have been called, and i think then it would be deemed clean. If he doesnt touch the puck, he shouldnt need the awareness to be hit without it. Just my two cents.

Interference...
EG tried to time the hit.
You never played hockey or don’t understand this.
Judgement on the penalty was based on this.
If otherwise then another type of penalty is called & demands more attention.

I played hockey. I still play (recreational/beer). Why do you always resort to personal squabbles when people dont agree with you? And I honestly cant understand the point you're trying make. Its hard to imagine trying to argue about something being clean when both the officials deem it a penalty, and gudbranson later goes to the media and says its a bad hit. So ill peacefully agree to disagree.

Imagine having the gall to ask someone if they played the game of hockey for voicing an opinion that differs from their own.

Its just a dumb statement in general. People take opinions that arent completely aligned with their own as personal attacks on the site. Fragile feelings all over.

It's a judgement call by the officials overall.. The Puck was passing through Dube's feet and Guddy probably thought he was gonna play it. Just so happened that he caught him in the head a bit. Don't think the hit was malicious or there was intent to injure. But you can guarantee Guddy will be called out by Prout for it even though he kinda answered the bell with Hamonic even though it was lopsided.

Bottom line is that if the Flames choose to be jackasses about it and go after Boeser or EP it will be another Torts situation.

It was clean or a different penalty is called. Players admiring passes & no awareness is the problem.
- Nighthawk

Exactly, dube wasn't aware simple as that, it wasn't malicious and guddy just timed it a bit early got an interference penalty move on.

The hit itself wasnt that bad. If it wasnt on a rookie and his first game, people wouldnt even be talking about it. If it was reversed and the hit was on EP, people in here would be rioting and the hit would be seen in a different perspective lol. Either way, i imagine prout talks to gudbranson, maybe the fight, and its over.

I agree, I don't think the hit was malicious or anything, but if the shoe was on the other foot (and say EP was caught by Hamonic with his head down), many fans here would be calling for Jv or Guddy to run Gaudreau or something.

Although I don't see that happening in the game.
Guddy will answer the call (again) and it'll be dealt with.

Hopefully we can get back to talking about Fortnite.

All in all. Id rather build a rivalry from a team cause of a big hit than what someone on another team says about our team re: fortnite.

If they try and set the tone physically, that'll give EP some more time out there on the PP.
I look forward to it.

It doesn't feel like we have any rivalries at the moment, mostly because it's hard to have a rivalry when you suck.

Seattle Krackens 2020 will hopefully be a real geographic rivalry.

PS i typed Krackers and have just come up with their nickname.

I look forward to being physical, as well. If Calgary decides to retaliate so be it. Hockey can be a tough sport.

Hard to be considered a rivalry when you havent really been seen as a threat in a long time. Im hoping for another big win tomorrow though, would love to renew a rivalry with a western team

You conveniently ignored the rest of the same sentence. It alluded to you don’t understand an innocent play & the penalty resulting had no intent. Tom Wilson is a predator & EG simply timed it poorly.

When you take it out of context of course it changes the narrative.

Pretty much other than if he’s not aware in open center ice a hit could be coming he will learn or he will get smacked again. Lindros never clued into that did he?

I played d all my life and you look for hits like that he just timed it wrong, not by much though, its a fast tough game it can be.

I didn’t say that lol
All i meant was there are many other examples that some consider requiring pay back. Fighting over innocent hits or inadvertent poor timing is getting out of hand. Idk why it’s so prevalent but it is mainstream knee jerk reactions in todays NHL. I hope the league monitors retribution if any occurs in these examples if an injury happens. Marchand is a good example & Bertuzzi’s is infamous.
