I'd like to see if JB could nab a good college free agent defenceman this season. Van shouldn't go into next season with 4 or 5 rookie D but would be nice to exchange two or 3 of them. Maybe they draft an NHL ready D. IDK.

Only the right side is signed for next season and with the two best D prospects being left side players.

Quinn Hughes is a very dynamic player. Would change the landscape of the D with just him playing 20 a night instead of MDZ/Hutton/Pullout.

Hughes will be a star right out of the gates.

I've gone back and forth on this about trading Tanev and Edler , it is a hard decision but we have been the worst team in the NHL over the last 4 years so there is very little to lose.

If you can get 2 first round picks then you do it. You also save 9.5 mil which could help you find a suitable replacement.
