"I'm not getting into that," Bogosian said. "Everyone's going to speculate. Left side, right side, hip surgery, non-hip surgery. I was out and I'm making my way back.
"I'd like to get a few team practices in. I've been skating on my own, with Dennis Miller in the rehab skates. I'd like to get a few team practices in before I jump into the games. There are a lot of factors that go into it. Obviously, today was a step in the right direction, but I'm not ready to play again yet. Try to make sure we're being smart about it."
Moar like "not ready to play yet again" - jcragcrumple

Oh yeah, that's right. Lehner was able to keep the larger pads last year because he is a large human.
Looking back at scores from this year, most nights some team is scoring 7+ goals. I counted seven games where the winning team scores 7 or more. Lots of 6 and 5 goal winners as well. Seems like the equipment adjustments are working as intended. - Angler
Goals per game(per team) went from 2.77 in 16-17 to 2.97 in 17-18. And so far through 41 games they're at 3.21, that's obviously not going to hold up, scoring hasn't been that high since 93-94.
Here's a handy chart so you can plot the destruction of offense in the league.

That is a handy chart...Thanks. Couple of quick notes from that chart, league wide save percentage this season (again, only through 41 games) is significantly down from last year - .904 vs .912. Meanwhile our man Hutton is rocking along at a .943 so far this season. He has played exceptionally. The team is riding that confidence and it will be interesting to see what happens with the team's confidence when he comes back down to earth. (or hopefully doesn't come back down to earth, knock on wood)
Also, since 95-96 goals per game (per team) hasn't hit 3.0 any year except ... yes you already know the answer to this quiz ... 05-06. (3.08)

If the NHL really wants to grow the game,
they need to take serious steps to increase scoring
MLB, NBA, and even the almighty NFL have done it
Idk if they’ll ever get their heads out of their a$$e$
But they should

For the love of God, call interference again on defensemen "finishing their checks" along the wall after forwards dump the puck into the corner. It's blatant (frank)ing interference. The effect of calling a penalty on that play is two-fold:
1.) It results in a penalty which increases scoring
2.) It allows the forward to have a chance to retrieve the puck and create a scoring opportunity because the d man knows if he "closes the man off," that's a penalty

This was a penalty in 05-06 and it was glorious! - jcragcrumple
Agreed
Let’s the stars play
That’s what we wanna see
There’s lots of “easy” stuff they can do also
Make the nets bigger, for example

"I just had a shift where something happened and I wasn't feeling right, and instead of making it worse and powering through, I just tried to be smart about it," Bogosian said.
I assume he got the A because he's so good at being smart about it when he's hurt. No one is smarter about being hurt - jcragcrumple
