It's the draft picks they spent to acquire them that's the issue for me. They're were trying to be competitive instead of rebuilding.
They gave up McCann, 33rd, 55th, 94th picks, Bonino and Forsling via Clendenning to acquire those two. - LeftCoaster
MacCann has scored 10 NHL goals in the three year absence.
Forsling has scored 5 goals in the three years and doesn't look to be on the Hawks roster this year.
Clendenning
Bonino was hated here
We did also acquire a draft pick which I am sure was an oversight by you

Forsling is injured and expected to be full time with the hawks. - neem55
OK I don't follow him and I didn't see any stats on him this year. Anyways I think worrying about a guy that scored 3 goals last year is a bit over the top. It is like crying when Pouliot will get waived. |

You're awesome, I didn't report anything, I shared a quote Gagner said he wasn't told by the Canucks he'd been waived, he was waived ten days ago and the Canucks are once again doing damage control so Benning called him THIS MORNING ten days later
He said, she said, lol. - LeftCoaster
lol I was just joking. I won't ever let you live that tanbir tweet that you reposted down though. |

The point was, rebuilding teams don't trade for those guys, they use those picks to rebuild. That's where I started to lose faith in Benning.
He should've been rebuilding the defence through the draft, probably wouldn't be worst in the league as it is now. - LeftCoaster
last year, mccann had more points than sutter while only scoring 2 less goals. (he did play a whopping 7 more games though). |

You mean like OJ Hughes Woo Brisebois Utenen Brassard
Canucks did also draft other Dmen that didn't work out and not signed. |

Probably as clueless as saying Sutter is useless while 4 other GMs are calling asking for a trade.

No, I mean quality kids from the 2nd round of the 2016 draft who'd be close to being ready or actually ready. Like Girard in Nashville or Clague in LA who were both taken in the second round. Lots of good forwards too, DeBrincat, Kryou, Raddysh, Kuokkanen, Dube. Couple nice goalies in Carter Hart and Filip Gustavsson. |

That was a rumour from Botchford who you call a clueless hack, so you believe him or you don't, can't have it both ways? |

You guys both have your strengths, Sutter and Galchenyuk are both good NHL players. One of them is only good when he's producing points, the other does a lot of intangibles right and plays well defensively(in the TB game the best player on the ice might have been Sutter, you don't notice it as much... but 5v5 Stamkos/Kuch did nothing). But to their point, Forsling looks like the worst of those moves IMO. Clendeening was a bad return and he looks like he's going to have a career. But you aren't going to win every trade you make, don't you guys play fantasy hockey |

Elliot Friedman talked about Sutter as well. And Edler, a number of times. |

God lord, who the (frank) cares about Gagne.
Guy wasn't even worth a mention when he was actually on the team lol.
Why aren't we discussing last night's big win and the most important development from it: How shockingly atrocious is Pouliot and Gudbranson |

Interesting to see that Roussel gets top line right away. I would have put him with Sutter and Virtanen. |

The PK where they both have been quite good by most standards? I don't really like either player much, but given this roster most guys are playing a bit better than usual. I saw EG make a tape to tape pass last night, no dump down/icing A PASS Codes. I'm enjoying this and hope he can keep it up. |

I really think he wants a good forechecker for Bo/Brock. Neither of them are good on the forecheck. |

Interesting, to me Sutter looked slow last night, plays a great defensive game but the whole team looked gassed all night until they tied the game.
Virtanen I thought played great, same as Nilsson. Hopefully tomorrow the team comes ready to compete. |
