You can't have that weak of a pass to Eichel when everyone knows you're going for the one timer.
- gcomella34

Right on. Another thing, Auston Matthews doesn't need a big wind up to score. He has a very quick release, Eichel should try that.

Why blame Larson? This is not his fault. Just an embarrassing game on the part of the Sabres.

Sabres 2 victories came against teams who are combined 2-7 so far this year.

Their two losses came against teams who are a combined 6-2.

They won games when they weren’t playing their best and got by against teams clearly struggling. The big boys took us to school. On the bright side Dahlin got his first point tonight and it is only October. Hoping for a better effort on Saturday.

Being a Sabres fan in the heart of Leaf nation is like having your pecker being repeatedly hit with a hammer.

Did jack just say twice in his post game interview that the team was behind the 8 ball 🤔 🤔

The Leaf fans have suffered for many years. It's their turn to be good, we have to face it.

Here's the problem. The Sabres were never good for a long period of time. Early to mid 70s. 96-99. 05-07. Other that that, mediocrity if you're being generous.

The leafs have other threats on the PP. Sometimes, the Sabres have no one else who looks remotely threatening. Eichel is responsible for entries, he's the main puck handler, and the only shooting threat.

Why in the world is Housley playing risto 27 minutes in a 6-1 game? Idiotic.

That's way better than the Leafs over the same period though.

I think this is what are going to be this year. .500 team with some good wins and some very ugly losses.

Loser team yet again.

Eichel is NOT captain material. Housely is in WAY over his head.

Mittlestadt isn't the prospect he has been made out to be.

Okposo is shot. Skinner looks like he's rather be anywhere else and Hutton is wondering what he has got himself into.

Get ready for the Jack Hughes sweeps. The tank is on again.

I predict we get one or two loser points at best on this 5 game roadie.

Not by much. They have the same number of championships. Zero. And that's the only number that matters.

The point is neither team has been good, and until the Leafs actually win 4 playoff games they aren't either. Because, like you said, championships matter, first round exits don't.

This is the sort of nuanced take that exemplifies the level-headedness that HB encourages

I'm shocked that the guy who had 4 goals and was a -34 last year isn't a defensive panacea

Sabres crushed the Avs in 5v5 Corsi. So, that's something, right?

From now on this shall be known as a "Tanner victory".

Saw that
Did they outplay us?
Or did they just capitalize on their chances & we didn’t?

You’re commenting on a blog cheering the fact that the team had a winning record (over 3 games) for the first time in what, two seasons?

And hoping for 3 wins in a row.

I think 1st round playoff exits are indicative of a team that might be closer to the cup.
