What does that have to do with anything? I was comparing the Leafs and Sabres over the last ~50 years. This started with a kid who said living deep in the heart of Leafs country is like getting your Richard hit with a hammer or something along those lines. That would assume that the Leafs have been a powerhouse, they haven't. They were very good in the regular season last year, and lost, again, in the first round. And yet again, the Leafs defense(actual defense, not offense which Rielly has been insane) and goaltending are highly suspect. That's plain not going to get it done. The Caps tried to outscore teams for years and it didn't work, and finally they played a complete game and won.

Disaster.

Skinner and Thompson finished +1, Mittelstadt was even, They all crushed Corsi, Thompson leading the way with 71.43%, Mitts with a 64.71% and Skinner bringing up the rear with 61.54%. Team hit posts early, Avs buried seemingly every chance.

It felt like last year. After 2 good games, they came out lifeless. It was 3-0 before they had a good chance. When they cut it to 3-1, they immediately gave up a goal that ended any thought of a come back.
