I’m pretty sure it results in one of myself or jetsnation going supernova, which ends our known universe

Anything can happen. Look what happens when you throw cement hands Dave Semenko on Gretzky's line. He gets 10-12 goals a year. A few injuries and he might find himself with Mackinnon. Even a tree stump might get a few points on that line if parked in front of the net. Ty Rattie on the Oilers ,whos been bouncing around the NHL for nine years, is the latest proof of that theory .

The offensive side is only all good so long as the defensive responsibilities are taken care of. That's where Dano always falls apart.

Possession and defensive play have always been his strengths...

Dano can be in the 40-50 point range, question is does the balance of his game and person help the team win the big games against deep teams.

Don't know what Jetsnation and CorydonKeith have been drinking this morning!!!

I think Dano is a 40-50 point guy when he is given minutes. I think Maurice is an interesting coach, especially since most of his best decisions have come by pure luck. Players like Dano, Roslovic, Petan, Lemeiux get better with the more minutes they play. Players need to get into the groove of games. I wonder how well Kyle Connor would do if he only got 6 minutes a game, especially while watching the Corsi wonders in TLC get 18 minutes a game?

Another player that backs that theory up is Bryan Little. The man got 30 playing on the same line as Kovalchuk, then was a consistent 50-60 point guy playing with Wheeler. Little should be giving both Kovalchuk and Wheeler percentages of his paycheck for what he accomplished because of them!

You can put Tanev or Copp or Lipon or Appleton on the Scheif line with Wheeler and they will rack up points as well . Ty Ratte was nobody for the last five years until he was put on the McDavid line. Your not really making any type of point here. The bottom line is coaches are going to give the minutes on the top lines to the guys with serious talent like Connor , Ehlers, Laine , and some day Roslovic and not pluggers like Dano.

seriously though if he is given 2nd line ice time with whatever talent is left after MacKinnon line and 2nd line PP time he could be a 40 point player, with little upside. I still don't think there is enough talent there to help a top team over the top in best vs best games. His game style does not suit a traditional 4th line role, and he's not going to carry a 3rd line to significant success.

Since you put it that way, how come Copp is getting so many minutes? Copp should have done for the Jets what Devante Smith Pelly did for the Capitals in last years playoffs. Or what Bonino di for the Penguins two years ago.

Copp was with Scheifele line last year for a couple of games and was completely ineffective. Speaking of the Oilers, they also had Ryan Strome up with McDavid last year and he too was innefective so I am not really getting the point that's being made.

Also, Maurice believed in Kyle Connor so much last year, he started him on the Moose. I wonder if he would have been called up if not for the Perreault injury.

It's really moot at this point ... the kid is gone and according to one report happy he gets another shot at a starting role ... good for him

Not everyone gets to play with Wheels & Schiefs - that's just life in the show ... PoMo has stated this before ... and as far as the TLC / shut down line goes - really ... like come on - really ... why would you f_ck with it .... as stated before - $5.6M in cap - 7% of your cap to a forward line you can play against almost anyone ... that's a home run

The middle 6 - that's the challenge right now ... what combinations max the return on the middle 6 ?

The problem is imagination. You have Ehlers, Laine, and Little all shoot first players on one line. Connor in my books has the ability to drive his own line. He has shown chemistry with Roslovic in the past playing together in the AHL. I think Ehlers getting put back where he had some of his best success with Scheifele and Wheeler makes sense.

I think Connor has both the ability to score and set-up Laine. He has shown he has a high hockey IQ, similar to that of Scheifele and Wheeler. I would love to the Jets try the following lines:

Ehlers-Scheifele-Wheeler
Connor-Roslovic-Laine
Perreault-Copp-Little
Lemieux-Lowry-Tanev

John Druce, Chris Kontos, and many others got on a roll once upon a time and could never duplicate it.

He’s maintained the same level of production and puck possession, just has less than half the ice time
