The team plays with ZERO sense of urgency.

We are horrible at passing. Colorado regularly made tape to tape passes, on the rush, where they barreled through our defense. Likewise, all of our players reluctantly rush the zone.

A lot of standing still and passing from stand-still positions.

No one seems to want to carry the puck, let alone enter the zone with it. They immediately pass at the line and go offsides constantly.

MAn, there's more but we are just not a very good team. And Larsson was putrid last night.

They have come back and responded. I think they need learn as a team they play games on Thursday nights.

They do but all 4 corners in the 300’s were empty and there were rows in the 100 level empty.

The passing has to be much quicker, especially in the offensive zone. The Sabres are letting the opposing team set up too much.

This Hockey thingy is pretty easy.

Some context is still required for this team:

$9 million spent on two players who haven't played yet his year: The winger formerly known as 26, and Bogosian. Over 10 percent of the cap.

20 million - 25% of the cap - when we include Pommer and Okposo. I don't want to disparage these two all that much, other than to say that Pominville is obviously overpaid.

15.5 mil frees up next year with the departure of Moulson, Pomme, Beaulieu, Larsson, Girgs. That leaves only Erod, McCabe, Ullmark and Skinner to pay.

Skinner may see a bump from 5.1 to 6.5 (or equal replacement via trade or FA)

McCabe, Erod and Ullmark will get modest raises.

That should mean perhaps 10 million available for FA/trade acquisitions. That number hops to $16m depending on what happens with Okposo

I would target Stone or Simmonds, and perhaps look into buying low on Shattenkirk
