15.5 mil frees up next year with the departure of Moulson, Pomme, Beaulieu, Larsson, Girgs and Bogo.

- jcragcrumple

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we're on the hook for Bogo next year too...

Fixed that, that was a typo. Bogo does not figure into that $15+ mil

It would be 20 if he were gone

What's the deal today that swaps Shattenkirk for Bogo?

I'd probably do it

Gotta match salaries: Bogo, Beaulieu, a 2nd and a 4th?

In 3 years, sure. The suggestion was he could do it in next couple months
- Lunaion

I feel like he could just choose not to show up, have his contract voided and then sign. This would obviously never happen, but hypothetically he could go that route no?

I think sobotka just turned down a QO when he left. I dont know of any cases where a player on an ELC just chose not to show up, would be interesting.

you're yelling at the clouds man - let it go. the players are the professionals who need to, um ... [learn?] how to tune that out. start winning at a regular clip and it'll stop if it works like it did here in Nashville

I don't think the KHL has an agreement with the NHL. I think all the Euro leagues do.

I don't think Olofsson has given any reason to think he's ready for the NHL, other than on the PP. That alone is tempting. It would give them the right side shooting threat they are sorely missing. I think they are better giving him at least half a season before considering it.

KHL does not. They talk about it every couple of years and they were close after the last lockout, but nothing ever came of it.

Looking at the numbers, the Sabres are positive in CF%(12th) and expected goals+/-(14th), but they are shooting a measly 5.06% at 5v5, only Tampa and Arizona have a lower SH% at 2.27% and 0%(you read that right, 0% for Arizona), respectively. All of which points to somewhat bad luck, which we've seen, especially last night. And the SV% is a not great 22nd(last night definitely put a crimp in that), combined for 27th in PDO. Last year they were dead last in SH% at 6.16% and were 26th in CF%.

It's still way too early to come to any real conclusions, it's heartening to see Corsi and expected goals in the positive range, which is definitely a huge step in the right direction, so far. I think overall team defense has been much better, there have been some bonehead plays, and some bad bounces, but all teams deal with that. If they get even average 5v5 scoring the team will be sitting pretty.

(frank) the "SHOOOOT!!!" people. They drove me bonkers back when I had season tickets. First, you don't know what your talking about since you can't actually see shooting lanes from the stands. Second, the players aren't listening to you. Just shut the (frank) up and cheer for the team.

I've been liking his play this season. Larsson is legit trash, seeing him in person confirmed it.

This team looks much worse in person, you really wouldn't believe it. I was borderline devastated watching them play and throw temper tantrums and not step up and make a play. It's not all on coaching, none of these players know how to dominate, sans Dahlin, and believe me you, he is going to start to take over the game once he settles. He looks like he has a killer-instinct. He completely stood up an Avalance player at his own blue line with a solid hip-check that the opposing player skated right into but never saw coming. He even tried not to completely demolish the guy, basically set him down on the ice. On top of that, you can tell he sees the play developing, or in our case, the complete lack of a play developing because none of them know how to play positional hockey.

How he slid down from the point for that pointblank chance was very nice, showed great vision. And he's smooth as baby poop, almost seems like he's going in slow motion. Reminds me a lot of Mario, the mannerisms.

He's still only 18, right? I mean, damn. We can only hope.

But I really do hope Eichel isn't a Center version of Miller(2.0) cry-ass, never take the blame for getting beat high glove side constantly, pout-my-way-out-of-town for 5 damn years, miserable son-of a b!tch the whole time he plays here.

I haven't heard every postgame this year, but that's not what I've heard so far, which is good.
