Agreed—I think this was really important to him.
After the game in Kelowna, I asked Boeser what personal goals he had set for this season.
"I mean, the main goal is to produce for the team," he replied. "There's obviously some goals but I can't set those goals until I score that first one."
Even then, he was thinking about it. - Carol Schram
Yeah in most of his goal celebrations he's pretty reserved, but he let out a lot of emotion last night. Also, thanks for sharing that little interaction you had with him.
Personally, I'd like him and EP to spend some time together and see what happens @ 5X5 - But I already noticed a difference on the PP with EP running the show, there's a little less reliance on getting BB the puck - like last year. I think the idea is to make enough passes to get EP open to shoot and that kinda makes BB presence somewhat redundant - Honestly, I'd rather see them separated on the PP and have a dangerous guy on each unit.

FAKE NEWS - Makita
Sounded like both sides said it was the agent who informed him. I know if it were me, I would have appreciated a conversation from someone responsible for the decision. |

I also think it's that Edler feels more confident passing/setting up the slapper to the right, rather than the left. Noticed a few of his passes to BB were off, but pretty much all to EP were on.
I think once they figure out how to get that cross-ice pass between EP and BB, it'll be lights out. Right now when they pass down low, they try and jam it or kick it back to the guy in the middle (Sven). They have to make some adjustments to their form and movement to open up those lanes. |

What MDZ is really trying to say is, how could I possibly be sitting when, even at my absolute worst, I couldn't possibly even try to be as bad as Gudbranson has been. - Whiskey-Tango

a famous guy once said "if you are ever 10 pages behind, don't bother re-reading to catch up, you will never get that time back". He must be pretty important, whitey quoted him. |

I read it, some very passionate oppinions. I don't agree that it needed to be Bennings voice, but it should have been in person (if it wasn't), and it should have been someone on staff rather than a player agent (if it wasn't). |

I think the real question here should be:
If you could only pick one yet had to pick one, who would it be?
Gudbranson or Sbisa.

Not lying. Just different perspectives of the same situation.
I'm actually in Benning's corner on this. Gagner's contract is all the recognition he deserves, and then some. Gagner's the only one who didn't keep up his end of the deal by not delivering based on money paid. |

He is still with the team in a lesser role because he chose to coast. Never assume. |

I dunno, Gagner did exactly what I expected, play wise. I'm just a fan, not a professional scout, coach, manager etc. That anyone on the Canucks staff is surprised by this is concerning. |

Maybe he's just pissed that he didn't get a call from Benning that he was going to the press box and he had to hear from his coach. - Makita
This is exactly why this team needs to hire a feelings coach. Now. |

JB to FA
“It was a hard conversation,” Benning said. “I tried to explain to him that we had signed Sam but we felt younger players had outperformed him at camp. I was talking about (Nikolay) Goldobin, mostly. We had to make a hard decision on that, and it was hard to have to call him up and explain it. But at the end of the conversation he understood. That was the hardest call I’ve had to make to him.”
Aquilini told Sportsnet: “When they made that decision to put Sam in the minors, when they told me, I wasn’t happy about it. I mean, it’s $3 million (per season). It’s crazy, but that’s what was necessary.” |
